Ok, so before we go any further, let me assure you that I finally signed up for a photography class. I know, I know, I'm already an expert, but really...even I can improve. Seriously, I am the worst photographer, so please just squint your eyes and pretend like the pictures are awesome, mmmkay? Thanks. I knew I could count on you.

So about the letters...I used the chip decor letters from Hobby Lobby, which I love. They are $2.00 each, and I love the simple, clean lines. I used a metallic silver paint, then a teeny, tiny bit of dark stain, that I wiped on then right back off to give a little bit of a tarnished look. To get the letters to stand upright, I hot glued nickels to the bottom. I thought about using quarters, but seriously, what a waste of money! When I say cheap, I'm not messing around, people!

You promised you would squint your eyes.

Here they are posing as bookends.

There are the nickels. Seriously, I could have taken time to wipe off the excess glue.

You know how I'm addicted to interior design? Well, this may or may not come as a big shock to you, but I'm also addicted to clothes. I love clothes. And shoes. And clothes for Stella. And shoes for Stella. I see something I like, and then I just obsess over it. So, there I was innocently looking for kelly green interiors, when up pops these seriously awesome kelly green pants. And now, I have to have them. Darn you, Pinterest. I blame you. I mean seriously, I thought we were better friends than that. Here I am trying to stick to my budget, and you just willy nilly wave something irresistible in front of me. Don't worry. I'll forgive you...as soon as I find and buy the green pants.

Just Because I Like Sticks...

...doesn't mean that I like to camp. Let me tell you how I really feel. I hate being cold. I hate being dirty. I hate not being able to sleep, because I'm too cold. And, I hate smelling like smoke. Did I miss anything? Oh yeah. I hate wearing camping clothes, which I don't own any of.

When I was younger, you know, back in the day when my body could survive without sleep...and a bed, I went camping all the time--and actually liked it. It wasn't even fancy camping. I'm talking sleeping bag under the stars camping. And then, there were the riding trips with my dad. We would pack up our horses and mules and ride into the wilderness to sleep. There was the trip where my feet were so freaking cold, that my dad had to build a fire at the top of the mountain so that I could warm up my feet. And let's not forget the overnight hike I went on when I was 16, carrying a back pack that weighed more than I did, not being able to go to the bathroom without it getting all over the back of my pants, being stuck on top of the mountain in the rain, and...the tick. Tick number two. And that, my friends, is why you will know for sure, that if you ever see me gathering sticks, it is definitely for the inside of my house.

Let's Talk Mantles

We've already established my pure, unadulterated jealousy toward anyone with a beautiful fireplace and mantle (and anyone with an IKEA, but we won't go there...today). Most mantles are the focal point of the room they are in, so, of course, they should be totally fabulous. Here are a few of my favorite ways to style a mantle.

(1)Layers: I love a layered mantle, as long as it is clutter free. Think threes, maximizing room height, and varying picture size.

(2)Mirrors: Mirrors are a fabulous way to style a mantle. Mirrors bring in extra light and are super versatile. Finding a unique mirror will definitely score you extra points with the decorating Gods! With that being said, you do not want to make them angry.

(3)Hanging Prints: I love the idea of either two, three, four (two on top, two on bottom), or even six (three on top, three on bottom) prints over a fireplace. It's clean, it's simple, and super chic. If you are looking to maximize the height of the room (which I am always a big fan of), opt for four or six prints over the fireplace. If you use two, use tall prints. And, above all, just make your mantle fabulous. Let's keep those decorating Gods happy, shall we?

Here's one more project that I had all the intentions in the world of making for my own home...but didn't. I still want to make them, though. You can find the full tutorial on The Way We Are. I've been kind of lame on the project front, but don't worry, I do have a list, and these magnet frames are on it. I'm going to need these beauties before December when my baby starts preschool and starts bringing home all sorts of masterpieces. Yes. Preschool. I can't even believe it. It's going to be a rough day with lots of crying. Hopefully the crying will last less than two and a half hours, so I can pull myself together before I go pick her up.

I have one, just one single yellow piece of decor in my entire house. That is Stella's lamp. There's a problem with that, I mean have you SEEN these pictures? Could they BE any more chic? (That was meant to sound like Chandler Bing, in case you didn't catch that.) I love yellow, and mustard yellow is like the more sophisticated version of yellow, so what's not to like about that? And, more importantly, why don't I have more of it in my house? I love the seating in these pictures, and if any of you ever decide to buy the above-mentioned, below-pictured seating, I promise, I will put it in my house. Oh, and I won't even return it, either.

I have always wanted to design a shabby chic guest room. I know, I know, that puts me at like ten guest rooms. So...let's just say I need to rethink some things, but for now, let's just admire my vivid imagination, shall we? I love a little shabby chic as long as it is not overdone. (Especially love those overlapping frames in the first image. Gorg. Looks like a great diy to me.) As for this imaginary house of mine, who wants to come stay in it? Rumor has it that the guest rooms are spectacular, which totally makes up for the subpar food.

Are red and pink not the quintessential colors for Valentine's Day? And, I have to say, they look good together in a room. (Minus the red for me. You know I'm scared of red.) Valentine's Day is less than a week away. Seriously? It's going to be summer before we know it. ~~I decided~~ We established early on in our marriage that Valentine's Day is a girl holiday. Don't get me wrong. I'm not opposed to getting my husband gifts, and I am AWESOME in that department, but when it comes to V-Day, girls are really the ones who love to be spoiled. Chocolates, flowers, and all of that froo froo stuff is just not appreciated by men. So I say, why waste Godiva, roses, and diamonds when they're happy with a bag of peanut M&Ms and having control over the remote? Know what I mean?

How Hard Could it Be?

I like to say, "How hard could it be," because to naive, little me,a lot of things look like they would be easy to make. This is coming from someone who can't sew, can't use power tools, can't build things...you get the point. If not, here it is: sometimes I don't know what I'm talking about, and things are actually hard to make. But, I have to say, I really do think I'm right on this one. How hard could it be to make these lights?

I would SO be all over this if I wasn't renting. I've changed out lights before while renting, but I don't have anywhere to store the massive glass lights in this place, so I'm asking for you to make the lights, and I can live vicariously through you.

First up, is the Martha Stewart ombre light. SO gorg. Lampshade, light kit, and voile...oh and something to stick the voile on the lampshade with. Here's the tutorial. I'm quite jealous that someone else gets to have this in her home. I love it.

I'm kind of doubting that this next one was a diy, but same idea: lampshade, light kit, glue some circle thingies...voila! It is kind of similar to what I did with Stella's lamp, but it's done with wood or vinyl or something stiffer than fabric. I'm sure they totally copy catted me, but made theirs even better. That's the worst kind of copy cat. Just sayin'.

Again, may or may not be a diy, but seriously friends, go get some tumble weeds out of your backyard, spray paint them, and you have designer lights. Uber cool. So, I've given you three options. Can't wait to hear how your projects went. Now, run along and go make some lights for me yourselves.

I'd Look Good in That

There is just something totally glamorous about a four poster bed. If I had to choose a new bed (I'm sure I'd really need some arm-twisting), I would definitely go with a four poster. In fact, I've wanted a four poster ever since I was little and fell in love with my neighbor Gayle's canopy bed. (Everything she had was THE coolest.)

I had a four poster bed when I was in high school. It's still at my mom's house. I talked my mom into letting me sell my entire bedroom set, and then I got a queen size four poster bed. I had no other furniture in the room. There wasn't enough space, but man, that bed was awesome! It was actually my third bed I had as a child--right after my daybed phase. Apparently I've always had this furniture buying, room changing sickness--unless it's normal for children ask for new furniture and wallpaper for Christmas. Every year. Starting at age six.

One of the times I went under general anesthesia, I woke up telling Jeremy that I was "excruciatingly tired." I don't know if that makes sense or not, but that's how I feel tonight. It is only 7:20pm, and I seriously feel like I could have gone to bed an hour ago. SO. Tired. It's been one of those weeks where everything is scheduled back to back (to back). I need a nap, and the thought of an early morning work-out really doesn't sound good to me. At. All. Anyway...

I saw these silverware hooks a while ago, and I think they're totally cute and quirky. A lot of you probably already have all of the supplies you'll need: wood, silverware, gorilla glue, and hooks for hanging. These were originally featured on Design Sponge. Go here for the full tutorial. As for me, I'm off to bed. I should be asleep before 7:40.

Today is February, people. FEBRUARY! Was it not just Christmas? And, now it's time for Valentine's Day. Time for reds and pinks. Beautiful, beautiful pale pink. I would never have thought I would consider painting a room pink, but I must say, I LOVE these rooms, and they're not even little girl rooms. Totally chic. And the Phoebe Howard room? Yes please. I'll take every single bit of it. Gorgeous!

Closets and Tears

Wouldn't it be awesome to have one of these to die for, must have, dream closets? I seriously would just hide in there and look at all of my beautiful clothes and shoes, that of course, I would have to buy, so that my wardrobe was worthy of my closet. Make sense? I knew it would.
Today I went through four bins and packed up all of Stella's 0-12 month clothes to ship to Utah. There were a lot of memories in those bins of clothes, like the outfit we brought her home from the hospital in; or the little, silver ballet flats that she wore to her temple sealing; or the itty bitty jammies with the yellow ducks on them. I cried (and it still makes me cry). Stella said, "Mommy sad." She then sat on my lap and gave me one of her little hugs--the ones where she squeezes tight and gives a little pat on my back. And then...she put a magnet down my shirt, and the moment pretty much ended there. Can I not have a serious conversation with anyone in this house without someone trying to put something down my shirt? Sheesh!

Cutest. Bathrooms. Ever.

We all know that I'm not a themey room type of person, but adding lots of color and whimsy for a kids' space? That's a whole other story. How amazing are these bathrooms? I am so in love. These rooms make me so happy. Happy enough that I could spend some serious time in there...perhaps potty training a certain little lady...which, by the way, is just around the corner. Again. She's getting close to being ready, and I'm kind of bummed out about it--not about her being potty trained but about me having to do it. Worst. Thing. Ever. It is. And now, I totally just ruined my good mood rooms. I changed my mind. I wouldn't potty train in these dreamy bathrooms. I'd have a hot bath...with a book...while Stella runs around her in diaper.

Today was disgusting and rainy, and I've come to the conclusion that if I ever lived somewhere that was rainy all the time, I would be fat and depressed. I hate going out in the rain, but you know what I do like to do in the rain? Sit and eat. Not a good combination. I would like to say that on this damp and dreary day that I did something awesome and crafted, but that would be a lie unless you count taking pictures of crafts as awesome. I really wouldn't use that word with my photography. Anyway...

I made these cans ages ago. They're practically vintage. Handmade, vintage...sounds totally cool. I found the tutorial in a magazine probably about 10 years ago, made them, and have hauled them around the country with me, because I love them that much. That's also why they're a bit "worn in", if you will.

All you have to do is take pages from a catalog and cut them to the length you want. Then, you roll the paper and tape it until you have lots of rolls of paper. (Each one of these cans has about 28 rolls on it.) And last, you hot glue the rolls to the cans. Can you handle it? I think you can--no pun intended. Seriously didn't even do that on purpose. Get it? Can? See what the rain does to me? No bueno.

I think we can all agree that turquoise is the new black. If you don't agree with me, well then, you're wrong. Just kidding. Kind of. Ok, you are wrong. Turquoise goes with pretty much everything, and even I, who am afraid of red, love the combination of turquoise and red. I like it best when the turquoise is subtle and the red is used sparingly. I still don't know if I would take the plunge and buy red, but I might...but only for the house. Never buying it for my bod. Just. Can't. Do. It.

King Me

Let me ask you a question. Why is it than when you're dating, you can spend hours watching movies on a teeny, tiny couch, spooning for hours on a space that's not even comfortable enough for one person, let alone two? (Yes, I said spooning. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about.) And, why is it that once you're married, your queen size bed, which is WAY bigger, WAY more comfortable and actually made for sleeping, suddenly becomes WAY too small? Is it just me? I get so claustrophobic, and when I'm ready to shut my eyes and go to sleep, I mean business--as in you better not cross "the line" business. You know, the imaginary line that divides the middle of the bed, kind of like the line in the backseat of the car that divides you and your sibling? Yes, I'm that grown up. It gets worse, though, because, you see, we never agree on where "the line" is. Jeremy thinks the line is determined by mass, meaning he would get more of the bed, two thirds according to him. I, of course, disagree. Solution? We're either gonna have to go Lucy and Ricky style, or we're gonna have to get a king. And while you all know how much I love a room with two twin beds, well, that's just not right. King it is.

Things Are Lookin' Up

For some reason, I've been really digging on kitchens lately. Not sure why, there's certainly nothing I can do with my kitchen, but it's fun to dream, and that's what this blog is all about! White kitchen, beautiful backsplash, painted ceiling...forget about it. LOVE, LOVE, aaaand, LOVE. This post was really supposed to be about ceilings, but I especially love the two kitchens pictured...and I'm not the best at staying on topic.
So, we sold our couch this weekend, which is a good thing, because I was about two days away from being annoyed at the couch in our dining room. People on Craiglist are such teasers. Let me break it down for you..."I'm really interested in your couch, is it still available? I want to get it today." Never hear from them again. Then there's the, "I love the couch. The price is great. I'll have it picked up, just give me all of your personal information, so I can mail a cashier's check." I might be desperate to sell some furniture, but I'm not stupid. My favorites, though, were the, "Where are your pillows from?" or, "Is the starburst mirror for sale?" Why yes it is. It's $500 and comes with a free couch. Anyway, it's sold. We got more than we had anticipated, it's gone, and we've got the cash in hand. Phew. Check that off my list of things to no longer worry about!

[so cheap, so easy]: Monogram Wreath

I am a list maker and a list checker off-er. Today, I had two very important things on my list located in my handy, dandy notebook (stolen material, I know). Number one was to work on some adoption paperwork, and number two was to work on a bulletin board for church. Instead, I made this wreath. I then decided that I would write "complete wreath" in my notebook and check it off. I felt good about it. And, for those of you who are worried that we will never complete our adoption paperwork, don't. It will be finished soon, plus, when the case worker sees this wreath on our front door, he will totally give us extra points on our home study. Ok. Not really.

All you need for this wreath is a letter, glue, a sheet of moss, a wreath, and ribbon or fabric of your choice. Then, you just need to attach everything. I attached the "J" to the wreath with a small ribbon, and then just tied the bow directly onto the wreath. I actually think it would be super cute without the wreath, but since our monogram is a "J," I felt like it needed a little something extra to balance it out. Perhaps it's a little bit country (again, stolen material), but I like it for now, and plus, I got to check something off of my list.

[color kreyv]: Yellow

I decided that I needed a little bit of yellow in my life right now. This crazy weather has got me all sorts of confused. On Monday it was in the 60's. Today, it was in the 30's. Last night, there were tornado warnings. It rains, it snows, it does nothing. What the?! This trickery of Mother Nature's is just making me want to skip winter all together and just go straight to sunny skies...but not too hot. Let's not be crazy! (I am NOT an extreme weather person. Big surprise, I know.) If we end up living somewhere with lots of gray skies, I'm going to need a room with yellow to brighten my mood. Now that I think about it, I think we all need a good mood room, dontcha think? What's your good mood color?

Beautiful, Beautiful Floors

Are these floors gorgeous OR WHAT?! And, speaking of gorg, I would die for that kitchen in the first picture. All of it, unless that appliance is a coffee maker...I don't drink coffee, but everything else, including the lettuce...I'll take it. I don't know if I would ever dare paint wood floors, but I love the light and dark alternating wood. I would definitely do that. More accurately, I would pay and/or watch someone else do it.

Cuddles & Snuggles

I hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was mostly spent in our bedroom. Trust me, not as exciting as it sounds. Our little Stella had to have a procedure done, so her recovery was mostly spent in "Mommy's bed," relaxing, cuddling, and watching "Funny Animals," (Madagascar), "Berry Benson," (The Bee Movie), and Elmo. I definitely hated seeing her so miserable on the first day, but I loved that she just wanted me to hold her the entire time. That never gets old. As for the week ahead, I plan on getting out. I'm a tad bit stir crazy! And, as a side note, hydrogen peroxide takes blood right out of a white comforter, coats, and blankets. Just a tip for ya.

Do you ever just look through your favorite catalog just to see if there's something in there you can knock off? Check these out: burlap message boards from Ballard Designs. They sell for $49-$219. For reals? Cork board, burlap, brass nailheads...I'm thinking it can be done for a lil' bit cheaper, dontcha think? I love the simplicity of these, and I actually love all three sizes together and layered. This would make a great project for an office or message center. Unfortunately, I've got neither, so you if you do, you should make them. You really should.

My Grown Up Living Room

Don't you hate it when you take pictures, then two days later when you load them onto your computer, you realize how crappy they are? Let's just say I could stand to improve in the photography department. Anyway, here's the new furniture. You know how when a new book or movie comes out, and you hear so much hype about it, that when you finally read/watch it yourself, you feel like it was over-rated? That's probably how some of you may feel about my furniture, because I may or may not have made a big deal about it (see yesterday's post). But, I love it! This is originally what I wanted when we moved here a year and a half ago. I feel like we finally have a grown up, functional living room--I'm in love. And, perhaps, I'm just feeling a little too good from all of the Scotch Guard fumes. (We Scotch Guarded ourselves, and by "we", I obviously mean Jeremy. He delivered the furniture and treated it. I didn't even pretend to help. Sorry ladies, he's taken.) Whatever it is: fumes, new furniture, not having to help Scotch Guard...it's working for me.

I finally have TWO armchairs, and they are so comfy. I'm getting so practical in my old age.

I layered the rugs to add a little more color to the room. Even though our other furniture was in the same color family, the size of the new furniture made it feel a lot more beige. I think adding the rug breaks up the beige.

The furniture is a poly-nylon blend, but it has the look of linen.

I really love the detail of the white stitching.

Ridiculousness-er

So there I was finishing up a sushi dinner (paid for with a Groupon) with my beautiful family. Just minding my own business, trying to be thrifty with my Groupon, and that's where it all started. Right next door in the window of an unknown furniture store...

Jeremy and I had decided we were going to get two armchairs to go in our living room. I love the chairs that we already had in there, but they just weren't the big, comfy, we can actually entertain because there's enough seating chairs we originally wanted. I'm sure you're all aware that armchairs are a fortune! They usually range from $600-$900 (at least the ones I like, and yes, there will be a lot of justification in this post). The ones I found that night, when I wasn't even looking, were way clearanced for WAY less than what one would expect to pay for such awesomeness.

During the next few days, I looked at a few other stores, just to make sure. I decided I wanted the chairs, so we went back to the store, and I paid. But, you see, on the way home is where this story really starts: I decided that I really wanted the matching couch as well.

This is a big, fat, long story, but I do have to give you some background, so you can appreciate the total ridiculousness of my furniture adventures. Flashback to a year and a half ago. When we moved to St. Louis a year and a half ago, we sold the couch and chair that I loved, because I wanted more seating...yes, I do have a practical side--sometimes. We sold the couch and bought another along with two chairs. We got them home, and I hated them, like, "What have I done, I'm sick to my stomach," hate. We paid an additional fee to have the furniture that we just paid to have delivered returned. So, let me recap: sold couch I loved, bought couch I hated, returned couch I hated, and now have no couch. Let's continue...bought couch at Pier 1, returned couch to Pier 1, bought another couch at Pier 1 and settled with that one. I won't even go into the chairs, rugs, and pillows that accompanied this big mess of buying and returning.

So, here I was only about a year later thinking I wanted a new couch. Did I even dare say what I was thinking out loud? I did. "I kind of want to sell our couch, and get the new one." Poor, poor Jeremy. Is there a St. Jeremy? There should be. A saint for putting up with his wife's shenanigans. This was ridiculous. Absurd. Out. Of. Control. Seriously, I couldn't even make this stuff up if I tried. I'm almost embarrassed, and if you want to judge me, it will be the one time in my life that I would be okay with it.

I posted the sofa on Craigslist with no luck. I called the furniture store to find out how many couches they had left: one. They said they would hold it for me, and they would call me if they had someone else who was interested. Now, I really had to have this couch, but I couldn't just buy a couch, with a perfectly good couch sitting at home. Or, could I? The moment Jeremy walked into the house with the first chair, the phone rang. It was the furniture store. Someone else wanted the couch, so I bought it. The old(er) couch is now sitting in my dining room next to the table that is pushed up against the window. It's kind of like our little den, except for it's not a den. It's a dining room, and it shouldn't have a random couch in it. It's not cool at all, except you know what is cool? My new furniture!

So, I'm sorry to tell you that I don't have pictures yet. I am writing this post late on Saturday night, and my husband needs to take the computer to work for a 24 hour shift. It's not like I can say no to him at this point. I mean, he not only puts up with my house full of furniture, but he also spent five hours of his day off driving back and forth picking up pieces of furniture (only one piece fit in our car at a time). You know what this guy says? It's worth it if it makes me happy. Ahhhh, he's such a good guy, and besides reminding me that I'm the luckiest girl in the world, it also makes me think that A) I can't wait until he goes into private practice and REALLY makes me happy, and B) If he thinks he's breaking me down, so that he can get the handgun he wants, he is sorely mistaken. Just sayin'. (Ok, ok, I'm totally joking about the private practice comment, I'm already REALLY happy. And the gun comment? Not joking one bit. Never going to happen, my friends, never going to happen.)

In case you missed my new project over at Living Savvy, here it is for your viewing pleasure. If you did see it, and this is a rerun for you, then I also added Stella's lamp on the next post, since I haven't added it to this blog. AND, if you've already seen both projects, then, ummmm, I love you for reading my blog for so long!

As usual, my new project was VERY difficult. I had a scrap piece of particle board left over from another project, and all I did was paint it black. Next, I used a Sharpie Poster Paint marker (so fabulous, by the way and they come in every color) to write the lyrics of one of our favorite songs. This was a super easy project, but I love how it turned out!

Bright, vibrant, fresh, beautiful green. I've always loved green, but it's like I'm rediscovering it all over again. It's my newfound love. I know. So Fresh and So Clean Clean

Yes. I just quoted Outkast. That's how I roll, yo. Actually, I've been channeling Nelly tonight. (You would probably never guess that I'm a big fan of Nelly. Jeremy and I used to thump it in Jeremy's awesome Sentra. Ahhh, good times.) So, we ate dinner in University City, which is where Nelly grew up. Which is not ghetto. At all. Which is such the opposite of ghetto. In other words, Nelly has no street cred. What a poser. Anyway, I've gotten off track a bit. Back to fresh and clean...

On Saturday, I single handedly put all of the Christmas decorations away--including the Christmas tree. I was going to leave it for Jeremy, but I couldn't take it any more. I needed my house back, and now it feels fresh, clean, and uncluttered. Putting the decorations away is not the hard part. Cramming and lifting the bins back into the teeny, tiny closet is the hard part. But, I did it. I can become freakishly strong when I really want something done. So, the good part is that my house is feeling clean. The bad part is that Jeremy now knows that I can, indeed, lift heavy things and take down the Christmas tree. Perhaps he'll forget over the next year.

Can we even believe that 2011 is almost over? Time goes by too fast; however, if time doesn't go by fast, the hubs will never finish residency. Can I make time go by fast for the next two and a half years, and then have it slow down? What I really want is for Stella to stop growing, but for Jeremy to be done with residency. Ahhhh, I can't believe Christmas is over. It's a day of so much anticipation, and then it seems to go by so quickly. I'm a little bummed out that it's over with, aren't you? We had such a great holiday. Hope you all had a great day, too! (You can read about a few highlights here.) Unfortunately, something other than Christmas cheer was lingering in my home, and now it's my turn to be sick! Bummer...what a waste of a day! Luckily, Jeremy was home all day today to take care of me and more importantly, write me prescriptions for the good stuff. On that note, I just took a sleeping pill, and I'm off to bed hoping to wake up ready to face the real world.

I love all of these beautiful, white Christmas decorations; I love the movie White Christmas that two of my best besties Joan and Haley introduced to me by singing the sister song all day at work even if it wasn't December; and I love seeing snow in the Utah mountains. BUT, I'll be perfectly honest: I don't like snow on the ground, and I'm not at all disappointed that we won't be having a white Christmas here in St. Louis. Not. One. Single. Bit. Living in Wisconsin for five years will give you all of the white Christmases (New Years, Valentines, St. Patrick Days, Easters, and sometimes even Mother's Days) that you'll ever want (and more). So, just so we're straight, if I ever say I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, I'm most likely talking about decor.

Six. Days. Left. Can you even believe it? Christmas is almost here! Yay! I'm so excited! Our little family has been having such a fun time together. Unfortunately, my hubby's stay-cation has come to an end...back to work he goes. Bummer. We had quite the week together...

We drove to the ~~ghetto~~ city to get my hair extensions (or should I say weave) re-sewn in only to have it come right out the next day. Oh well. I guess it's time for short hair unless I want to fly to Utah to get it done. Short hair it is.

The hubs had a cavity filled.

We took the car into the dealership and came back with a $1000 repair bill. But, then I talked the guy into letting me take a new Audi Q5 home for my loaner car. Believe it or not, it helped soften the blow. A little bit.

I went to a new endocrinologist to find out that my thyroid level is still WAY out of range. No wonder I feel like sleeping as much as my two year old.

BUT THEN...

We got to spend time with a great friend from Milwaukee.

We decorated Christmas cookies with friends.

We got to spend lots of time together as a family and even watched a couple of movies.

We went and saw Santa Claus twice.

We did Christmas crafts, rode a Christmas carousel, and looked at Christmas lights.

We ate a great Mexican meal with the missionaries.

We got to go to a super fun Christmas Party where we laughed A LOT.

We went to our church Christmas Party.

Overall, a wonderful week! Funny how things are easier to cope with with the hubs around (and when you're driving a Q5 around town)! I'm going to miss him this week! When he's done with residency, I hope he finds a practice where he can earn a lot and work a little. Those jobs exist, right?!

So, did anyone else get out Christmas decorations this year only to discover that you don't like them anymore? I hate it when that happens, and by hate, I mean LOVE! You see, that means new decor, and how could I possibly hate new decor? You're right. I don't hate new decor.

I decided to add some trees to my nativity. I used five Make it: Fun® STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam cones in 18, 15, and 12 inch heights. I used about one yard of white felt, and yes, I used cotton face pads on one of the trees instead of cutting out circles. Weird? Perhaps. Resourceful? Definitely. So...after A LAH-HA-OT of cutting and gluing (using a low temperature glue gun as to not melt the styrofoam), I had some new decor. Cheap and easy, yes. Quick, not so much!

Let me know if you have any questions on any of the trees. I think you can tell how to do them by looking at them, but I probably think that because I made them. Sorry I didn't do a tutorial. I was ready to wrap this project up as fast as possible! Long project, small attention span...bad combination!

Pantone has announced their 2012 color of the year: Tangerine Tango. It's not red, it's not orange. It's right in between, and it's just right! I love it--especially as an accent color. And, holy cow, how awesome does it look with bright white?! Don't answer that, I already know the answer: VERY. AWESOME. It's bright; it's happy; it's Tangerine Tango, baby! What's not to like about that?
On an unrelated note, today is day three of my husband's stay-cation. I am loving having him around, but it's going by way too fast. We need to get something Christmasy in before he has to go back to work. Shopping? Yes, please. His idea, not mine. I know you don't believe me, but it's true. He likes to take me shopping for my Christmas gift. He has some crazy notion that I am hard to shop for. Wonder where he got that from. In my defense, he is just as hard to shop for as I. (Ok, not really.)

We just had one of our best friends from Milwaukee stay with us for a night while he interviewed for a residency position at Wash U. We had so much fun with him, and Stella can't stop asking for Jeff! She got attached to him very quickly! Unfortunately, Sarah and Baby Camden couldn't come along, but hopefully, we'll see them soon! We love having visitors, even though we don't have a guest room. Poor Jeff slept on the couch! I promise that someday, we will have a guest room so nice that you won't want to leave...but then we'll eventually make you leave. On second thought, maybe it won't be that nice, but just nice!

[so cheap, so easy]: Twine Wrapped Letters

I've been wanting to try to wrap some letters for some time, but I had never tried it. I bought these letters from Hobby Lobby and couldn't quite decide how I wanted to finish them, so I grabbed the twine and got to wrapping. I'm not going to lie. It took a lot longer than I thought it would, and I was over it after the N and O. My cheap and easy craft turned into a "I'm not having fun anymore, but I must finish this, because I don't want to do it again any time soon" craft. Know the type? I finally finished, and I love the end product. All I used was some hot glue to keep the twine in place (no need to glue the entire thing, just here and there), chip decor letters, and twine.

Nothing says Christmas like, NO. Yeah, I knew I couldn't get away with that one.

ON is a little better, but still doesn't say, "Fa la la la la."

OZ, anyone? I trudged ahead only to discover...

...that I didn't have enough twine. Errrr, are you kidding me? For three days this sat unfinished, taunting me until I couldn't take it any longer. I even had to go to two stores to find twine...still trudging ahead.

Wa la! Finally finished, and I love it!

Just Call Me Nature Girl

Since I forgot to post pictures of our Thanksgiving tablescape, here they are. I gathered the leaves from our front yard and strategically placed them on the table. When we sat down to eat, Jeremy said, "Ok, can we get rid of the leaves, now?" I gave him "the look," and he carefully placed every single one of them back where they belonged. The woman look comes in handy sometimes.

On Monday, Jeremy, Stella, and I went and gathered sticks for the Christmas tablescape. My cute husband had no idea what I had in mind and brought some type of power saw. Don't get me wrong, I might need that sometime, but I opted for the smaller, lighter branches this time. Poor Jeremy, he never knows what decorating shenanigans I will throw at him next. I'm so lucky that he plays along with me...even if he is rolling his eyes along the way!

The More the Merrier

I am loving the look of multiple tables as opposed to a single coffee table or nightstand. It looks so comfy and homey, right? It's a great way to give your space a lived in, layered look. I will admit that the first space looks like an accident waiting to happen with a little one, but by the time I have a house that I can decorate any way I want, I most likely won't have a little one. Geez. That's depressing in more ways than one. I'll have to make it up to myself somehow. Hmmm...what could I possible buy to fill the void of no babies? Beautiful, non childproof furniture, that's what! Wow. I already feel better.

Fireplace Envy

Know what I've never had in my married life? A fireplace. Know what I want? A fireplace. It's starting to get cold in St. Louis, and nothing beats a toasty fire in the wintertime. You see, I'm kind of a wimp in the cold...well, to be honest, I'm a wimp in the heat, too, but that's besides the point. Nobody knows this better than my hubs. This is what Jeremy's response was one time when asked if I was invited to the Packer game:

"Jamie doesn't get invited to outdoor sporting events due to her low tolerance for "extreme" conditions. Extreme meaning slight breezes which may disorganize a hair or 2, high humidity or slight drizzles which have similar effects on her plus some undesired effects on her make-up, and finally, temperatures beyond her comfort range of 75-76 degrees." What can I say? It's not far from the truth. BUT, in my defense, I have suffered through five Wisconsin winters and two St. Louis summers. I think they do more than "disorganize my hair!"

The other day, I was talking to the hubs about the fact that I avoid most jewel tones and other bright colors. My closet is mostly black, white, gray, tan, and cream, and then there's a small section of corals, blues, and other miscellaneous colors. I also mentioned to him that I use almost the exact same palette of neutrals when I decorate our home. He then said, "So you're kind of like Switzerland." Yes. I'm kind of like Switzerland. Neutral. Hey, I'll take what I can get. At least I got a response that actually related to the conversation. Do you decorate in the same palette as your wardrobe colors? Just curious...like George.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Seriously. So. Excited! I'm so excited for Christmas this year! Stella is old enough(ish) to know what is going on, and I just can't wait for her to open her presents on Christmas morning, look at Christmas lights, visit with Santa, and do all the other good stuff that happens this time of year!

We've had our tree up for a couple of weeks, now, and I'm almost done with the rest of the decor. Stella has been playing with her Lil' People Nativity set that she got from Grammy Jude, and she just can't get enough of "the Baby Jesus song" (it plays music) and the donkey--her other favorite character. At least she gets that Baby Jesus is the most important character. And, well, the donkey...I guess he played a pretty important part, too!

Gather 'Round

I'm getting pretty excited for Thanksgiving. I love to entertain, and when I say entertain, I mostly mean the desserts and the decor. Really. What else do you need in life? Exactly. It's a good thing the Hubs will be around to help with the rest of the food, which really, isn't that exciting to me. This year, we are having three missionaries from our church over for dinner. They are 19-21 year old boys with big appetites. And, they'll pretty much eat anything. We really can't go wrong, and if we do, they'll just eat it anyway!

I absolutely love the look of two twin beds for a kid's room. LOVE it. And, quite frankly, I'd take any one of these beds. Actually, I'd take any two of these beds. They are all fabulous!
Okay, complete change in subject...(What? Don't act like I never do that.) Can you even believe Thanksgiving is on Thursday? It's practically Christmas already. And, what I REALLY can't believe is that my little Stella is going to be TWO on Wednesday (sniff, sniff). Before I know it, she's going to have a room with two beds having sleep overs with her buddies. I can't handle it. (That's right, I always loop back around, and it all ties in at the end of the post!)

I finally got one of my projects checked off my list--nothing much, but something. I wanted to add a little more pizazz (yes, I just said pizazz...twice) to my bedroom. I came across a great piece of art that was framed moss and loved the texture and organic nature of it. This is my interpretation. I used Reindeer Moss from Michaels, and just smooshed it into the frames. Moss is sold in sheets, which would have been a lot easier/less messy, but I liked the brighter green of this moss. The pictures don't do it justice, but I love the texture and color of it all.

Oh Yeah...Thanksgiving

I think someone forgot to tell me that Thanksgiving is next week. NEXT WEEK! Wow. How did that happen? Man, I was really hoping to savor the month of November--reflect, reminisce, you know, all that good stuff. Life just gets away from me sometimes. Good thing it's not too late, but I should really start thinking about a grocery list for Thanksgiving.

Now for a bit of reflection. November is such a wonderful month to remind us to give thanks for all of our blessings that we have been given. I, for one, am one of the luckiest people I know. I have SO many things to be grateful for. About two years ago, one of our greatest blessings came into our life. Read about our our adoption story here. And lucky for me, my list of blessings just goes on and on...

Luh-hoo-zuh-her. I am so glad that last week is over. I was such a loser. I was sick to my stomach all week. Each morning I would wake up thinking that I was over it, but alas, I was not. I'm still not completely well, but my body has no choice. I'm not going to be sick anymore. I got absolutely NOTHING done, and on top of that, I was mother of the year (again). Actually, I am being a little bit hard on myself. I did accomplish some things. (Don't be jealous that I was so productive even when I was sick.)

1) I successfully went a full week without washing my hair. That's a LONG time. Even for me. Even the hubs said I had reached my all time greasiness.

2) I accidentally made a payment using an account that we don't use. Yup. Thirteen HUNDRED dollars overdrawn. I'm sure the bank totally bought my story. I don't care if they did. I told them if they didn't remove the overdraft fees we were switching banks. I can still be sassy, even when I'm sick. (Big loss for them, I'm sure, since we hardly use the account.)

3) I think I wore the same PINK lounge pants for five days straight. Not as cool as my greasy hair, but still an accomplishment.

4) I put Stella down for a nap, but I think only one of us napped. I found her having a good time in her crib. With no diaper. And wet sheets. She was putting on her pajama pants commando. The diaper she took off was still completely dry. (Does that count as waking up dry?)

5) I didn't cook and couldn't have even if I would have had the strength to do so. I've never seen our fridge so bare.

See? Who said you can't get anything done when you're sick. I managed to be sick, be a great mom, and look fabulous doing it! (I made you kind of jealous, didn't I?)

Holy Cow! What in the world is going around? Everyone is sick, and unfortunately, I wasn't left out of this one! The 24 hour flu may only last 24 hours, but it then takes two more days to recover. I am so weak and tired still, but I think by tomorrow, I will feel like a new woman. Perhaps, the hair might even get a washing. Perhaps.

[color kreyv]: Tiffany Blue

Beautiful--the color AND the jewelry. I've only received Tiffany's jewelry once, but it really was one of the most exciting days of my life. Seriously. My wonderful hubs surprised me with a Tiffany's necklace for our fifth anniversary, and let me tell you, there is nothing quite like seeing that little blue box sitting there from across the room. It was so much fun that perhaps I should paint a room this color. It would be just like living inside of a Tiffany's jewelry box. Now, that would be exciting!

In the Dark

How long will it take me to stop thinking,"Well, it's really an hour later than the clock shows." It's not. The time on the clock is the right time. I need to deal with Daylight Savings and the new getting dark at 5pm business! The darkness in these rooms, though, is something I could definitely get used to. Ab-so-lute-ly stunning.

Symmetry Love

Something about symmetrically styled rooms really speaks to me. (Not in a crazy I hear voices kind of way.) They're clean, they're organized, and they're pleasing to the eye. They calm me down, which is what I need after my mini trip to Utah.

I had such a fun time once I got to Utah, but traveling to and from wore me right out. Here are some of my best moments:

Pulling away from the house feeling like I forgot something and then getting to the airport and remembering that I forgot diapers. (Luckily, I had three in my purse.)

Long flight to Utah, long layover, and a delay. (Luckily I met a nice family who gave me two more diapers.)

Bathroom trips on the plane with a two year old--got walked in on once (of course while I was going to the bathroom). Don't worry, it was even more awkward that the man who walked in on me waited outside the door until I was finished. Hi again. I would have run back to my seat and not made eye contact, but whatever.

Climbing over two people to take Stella to the bathroom only to have her poop ten minutes later and having to climb over them all over again.

Walking out of the airplane bathroom with a long trail of toilet paper sticking to Stella's fleece blanket. I didn't even know the blanket made it to the bathroom.

Flying on a four hour flight only to have Stella fall asleep as we were landing.

Driving to the airport and being slowed down by icy roads, detours, and yes, a puking child. Nothing like starting a flight smelling like puke. Unfortunately, the smell didn't keep people from sitting by us.

I need more symmetry in my life. But first, I need more sleep.

I'm not one of those cool people who have a Cricut or Silhouette, so I have to do my typography old school style. This was a super easy project (of course). The frame was actually a dry-erase board, but any frame can be used. (Mine obviously doesn't have glass covering it. I'm ghetto like that.) I Mod Podged scrapbook paper onto the back of the frame. Next, I printed each letter on the computer. Yes, I used lots of ink, and yes, in hindsight I should have printed it out at Kinko's. Oh well. I cut out each letter (which wasn't hard, because they were so big). And, the last step was to Mod Podge the letters onto the background. There you have it!

It was a long day today (Tuesday) without my computer. I'm very glad to have it back. How pathetic am I that I can't function without it? I mean, really, it felt like a family member was undergoing a procedure, and quite frankly, I'm glad ~~he's~~ it's okay. We took our Mac to the Apple Store thinking we were just going to get more memory. That visit turned into, "Your battery is expanding (luckily not leaking), you do, indeed, need more storage, and oh, your hard drive is about to fail. Don't even turn your computer on until this is fixed." We had 27 days left on our warranty that neither the hubs nor I remember even having. Man, that was smart of us to buy that thing!

On top of the computer issue, our dryer belt broke. Perfect timing. ALL the laundry was still wet, AND, Stella and I are leaving for Utah tomorrow morning. Oh well! I'm just so happy about the Mac, I don't even care about the laundry. I will care about it more if I come home and it's not fixed!

Hook, Line, & Sinker

I've been married for over 10 years, so let's just say I've picked up a few... umm tools, if you will, along the way. As you know, the hubs is a resident which means lots of overnight shifts and lots of trying to catch up on sleep during the day. He's always hated that our bedroom curtains are white and don't do much to keep the room dark when they are closed.

Lately, I've been wanting to change up the bedroom a little bit...starting with the window treatments. So, I may or may not have manipulated the situation to get what I wanted. I said I needed to change out the panels, because I hate how light it is at night because of the street lamps. Plus, and more importantly, Hubs would be able to sleep better during the day. Am I bothered by how much light comes in at night? Yes. If I had window treatments that I absolutely loved would I live with the light? Yes. So, there you have it. I have my new window treatments, and Jeremy thinks I'm thoughtful for getting panels that keep out the light. Sounds like a win win to me. Don't judge me, after all, I just gave you a great tip.

We all know I have a gigantic love for sticks. There are sticks in Stella's room, the powder room, AND the living room (both in a planter and in my sunburst mirror). I just can't get enough, which is lucky for me, because I have found something else to do with lovely sticks! Plus, I still have a couple rooms without sticks...don't want them to feel left out.

I came across this beauty on Pinterest. The original post and tutorial can be found at Cleverly Inspired. She made the entire project for only two dollars. Two dollars people! That is next to nothing for this giant piece of awesomeness. (Hmmm, didn't think awesomeness was really a word, but I didn't get a big red line under it, so I guess it is. Good, because I meant it.) Definitely going to copycat this one! Love it!

Purple and green. It sounds a little scary at first, but look how beautiful these spaces are! I've always loved the colors for a little girl's room, but look how sophisticated it looks in this entry from Apartment Therapy. I guess we're not really talking about a true purple and a true green, because that could be a little much. It's really a chartreuse and plum; pear and lilac; and sage and lavender. How did I do? Let me guess, that's EXACTLY what you were thinking. Good. Glad we're on the same page.

The Bold & the Beautiful

I'm talking about bold and beautiful furniture, not the soap, which, for the record, I've never watched a daytime soap. They are too much, even for me. I'm into the good stuff that's on Bravo instead! But, back to the bold furniture. It is major, and once again, I am in love (especially with the blue sofa)! It makes a statement, but not an "in your face" statement. Perfect. Bold. Beautiful.

Stella's Cookie Monster Costume

This post has nothing to do with design, besides the fact that this little Cookie Monster looks really cute walking around my house! I had a couple of people ask for instructions on how the costume was made. Then, my friend Kelli at The Turquoise Piano suggested that I post and link up Stella's costume, so here it is! My sewing skills are quite pathetic, and I don't own a sewing machine, so this is an easy project. I got the idea over a year ago from some similar costumes I saw on Etsy. I wanted to wait until this year, because Stella couldn't walk last year, and the costume would have been a disaster on a crawler! Plus, she is obsessed with Sesame Street, so it was extra fun that she enjoyed being Cookie!

I used about 3 yards of tulle and 1/2 yard of matching fabric for the lining. My SIL Emily sewed the tulle onto the lining for me (three layers of tulle). We also used elastic across the chest. The lining is just a simple a-line shape. The costume hits Stella about mid-calf.

The head piece is part of a feather boa hot glued to a thick headband (hot glueing is really my strength)! The eyes are styrofoam balls and buttons, again, hot glued onto the headband. The cookie bracelet is two round pieces of felt stuffed with batting and hand stitched around the edge. I used a darker thread, because I wanted the stitching to show. The chocolate chips are mini pom poms hot glued onto the felt. I then glued the entire cookie onto ribbon. The ribbon was just tied around Stella's wrist.

The straps are grosgrain ribbon. I stitched the ribbon to the front of the main piece making sure they were close enough together that they wouldn't slip off of Stella's shoulders. I sewed two metal clasps (a loop and a hook clasp) in the back of the costume, and their counterparts on the two pieces of ribbon. I hand stitched more of the feather boa across the top of the dress.

This is not the greatest picture of the bag, but I wasn't planning on doing a tutorial. You might have to use your imagination a little! I bought the bag (in a three pack) from Hobby Lobby. I cut out a felt circle using the same felt as the cookie bracelet and glued it onto the bag. Again, I glued pom poms for chocolate chips. For the stitching, I drew them on with a fine-tip Sharpie marker. I also wrote, "Me Want Cookie" around the perimeter of the cookie.

[so cheap, so easy]: Stella's Pumpkin

I know I don't typically (well, ever) post [so cheap, so easy] projects on Mondays, but I suddenly realized that Halloween is only one week away! We've already gone to one party and have at least one more. (Click here to see my cute little Cookie Monster in action.)We're having lots of fun enjoying Halloween and the beautiful fall weather.

Stella is nearing two, and it's so fun to have her enjoy the festivities. A couple of weeks ago, Stella decorated her "pump." I wanted her to be able to do it by herself, but I also wanted it to be cute, because cute is important! I think I found a good solution, and there was even a little bit of learning involved, too! I bought black, felt letters/numbers from Michaels. I peeled the backs off, and Stella stuck them on the pumpkin. So easy, even a two year old can do it!

Start with a CLEAN pumpkin. No idea why she likes to lick the thing.

Stick on lots and lots of felt letters and numbers. (This one was an "o". Can you tell?)

Ta Da! All done! She's so proud.

She likes to carry it around with her like it's an accessory. It does make quite the statement.

[so cheap, so easy]: Wrapped Shoe Box Tops

I know I'm due for an original project of my own, but things come up (i.e. Stella's Halloween costume that I decided to make myself, but had no idea what I was getting into. Typical Jamie.) Don't worry, I'm working on a couple of things. This project will totally make up for me being a slacker, and really, isn't that what the world wide web is for--ripping off other people's designs?! So here it is: wrap shoe box lids in fabric. That's it! I love these on the wall and layered on a shelf. Plus, it's a project that doesn't take a whole lot of commitment. If you don't like it, you're out some fabric (that you probably already had), some hot glue, and a shoe box lid. My kind of project!

[color kreyv]: Chartreuse

I'm just going to throw this out there and get it over with. I got the idea for this week's [color kreyv] from Blue's Clues. That's right, Blue's Clues. I know you were thinking I was all sophisticated and cultured, but when you spend your days with a two year old, Elmo, DJ Lance, and Blue, you take what you can get. (Obviously, I'm not opposed to Stella watching a show here and there. What can I say? Elmo doesn't charge me anything to babysit Stella while I'm in the shower or cooking dinner!)

Did you know that chartreuse (the color between green and yellow) was named because of its resemblance to one of the French liqueurs named green chartreuse? Now who's cultured? I definitely didn't get that info from Blue...I got it from Wikipedia. Who do I think I'm fooling, anyway?!

Manly Chandeliers

I long for the day when I can have chandeliers in my home. They are so major in setting the tone in a room, and poor me, I am without. You may think manly chandeliers is an oxymoron, but check these out. Ok, so the antler one is a no brainer, but the other two are definitely striking a good balance between masculine and feminine.

On another note, I need to make fun of the hubs for a minute. He somehow hurt his neck by sleeping on it wrong. He can't move it, he can't really do anything without a spasm. He's in a lot of pain, and you're probably thinking, "Why is this funny?" It's really not. It's just that I kind of get the giggles when I see him traipsing around the house like he's 95 years old, and then I smell the Icy Hot, and I just can't contain myself. It's not like back in the day when he used to get hurt playing lacrosse. That's legit. It's that ever since he turned the ripe old age of 34, he's been hurting himself in the weirdest ways. First there was the picking up of the weight/back injury, then the neck. The worst part is what is he going to do tomorrow at work if a patient codes or something? Do you really want someone who can hardly move trying to save your life? I have a sick sense of humor, and I'm realizing that as I write this. In my defense, I have been taking good care of him, and I only laugh behind his back.

Gimme Some A Dat

Sleep. We need more sleep at our house. I'm so tired that I just want to live in one of these totally gorgeous beds, shut the drapes, and sleep the day away. Is that too much to ask? Meanwhile, Jeremy has had a horrendous schedule this month and just returned from a conference in Chi-Town. He went to bed at 8:00 tonight. He's a little sleepy himself, and don't even get me started on his allergies. Gross, just gross. Dude, take your Zyrtec, or I'm going to have to regulate. Geez, I'm so ghetto when I'm tired.

So, I'm laying in bed watching the Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion. It's still hard for me to admit that I watch that show, but let's just not hold it against me. Anyway, Jeremy starts talking to me about a balloon pump and a patient somewhere doing something, and he doesn't realize he's talking in his sleep, but he's trying to carry on a conversation with me, but at the same time he really thinks he's rounding at the hospital. Then, he asks me, "What room did this used to be?" He tried to convince me he wasn't asleep, but he just kept on talking about the hospital. I told him to go back to sleep. Poor boy needs a break! Perhaps he needs one of these beds as well. Oh, did you think I was going to share mine with him? Not when he's talking crazy talk. No way.

Just Plain Ol' Good Ideas

So it's the last day of the week of organization. (Technically, you still have Saturday, but we don't do that type of thing at our house on Saturdays. Saturdays are for messing up the house, or so some people in this household may think. How did you do? I can't say I did any major, life-changing projects, but I did something each day--mostly things I've been putting off. I organized Stella's bows; I cleaned out my side of the closet; I cleaned out my dresser drawers; I finally vacuumed, wiped out, AND washed the car (in a car wash, of course); and I cleaned and organized my desk, which has been the home of lots and lots of random piles of papers. I've only been in this house for a year, so I didn't have a ton of stuff to get rid of (plus, I throw things away on a daily basis, it's what we OCDers do). I also have a hard time getting rid of clothing, even if I haven't worn it for a while. Oh well, at least I made some progress!

Today I'm posting pics of good organization ideas I've come across. One reader is looking for ideas on organizing shoes, so let us know your ideas. At our house, we have a basket in the entry, and we use shoe shelves in our closet, which, by the way, aren't even tall enough for the pumps I wear, so I just have to line those up on the floor. The crown molding idea would definitely solve my problem.

Bins, Baskets, and Containers

Oh, how I love bins, baskets, and containers. I love the way they look, and I love the way they hide dirty, little secrets! I have tons--of bins, baskets, and containers, that is--not dirty, little secrets (sorry to disappoint, I'm just not that exciting). I just don't think you can ever have enough. The hubs and I have differing opinions on this. He thinks we have enough. Clearly, there's no such thing. In fact, I just ordered some great wire baskets. That's what he gets for being on call so much this month. I've got to occupy myself somehow after Stella goes to bed.
