my home

Welcome to our home! We are currently renting in the St. Louis area while the Mr. finishes a residency and fellowship in anesthesia. Going without beautiful paint colors and magnificent lighting is not my favorite, but we make do and love our "for now" home!

My overall style is simple, with clean lines and comfort. I love mixing industrial pieces with organic pieces. I love contemporary pieces with old, worn pieces. I love finding inspiration in unexpected places, and I love a good diy. The hubs? His style just happens to be EXACTLY the same as mine (wink, wink)! He's a good guy who patiently helps me paint, repaint, hang things up, take them down, then hang them up again, and...you get the point. A really good guy!

[Our Living Room & Entry]
We painted our Entry Stripes after living in our home for a year. The entry hooks are probably one of the most used things in our home! The temple picture was purchased from Raymond Designs.  The sticks seen throughout my home were purchased from Ikea.

I made my sunburst mirror using a tutorial from Isabella & Max RoomsOur couch and side table are from Pier 1, but I believe the couch is now discontinued.  We special ordered our ottoman years ago--before they were everywhere!  The ottoman books are from Pottery Barn. The navy pillows are from Willa Skye via Etsy.  The rug is from World Market.

The blue pillow was purchased from Pottery Barn.  The ikat pillow was made.  Our chairs are from Pier 1, and I added the nailhead trim.

I made the license plate art and large door art.The tutorial for the faux croc frame pictured below can be found here.

[Our Kitchen & Dining Room]

I purchased these glass jars from Crate & Barrel. Our armoire is from Pier 1--purchased in 2002 (practically vintage)! The bottle bud vase tutorial is here, and the wooden letter collage tutorial is here.  Also pictured below is the Live Love Eat print, which can be found here.

[Master Bedroom]

We got our bed from Pier 1 when we got married--another vintage piece. Ha ha. The white tray on the dresser is also from Pier 1. The three benches at the foot of the bed are from World Market, and the chair by the side of the bed was a purchase from Craigslist that we refinished.

[Stella's Nursery]

Stella's curtains, wicker chair, pillows, and dots above her crib (chargers) are from Pier 1. Her crib sheet is from Dwell Studio.  Her bumper was made by her grandma, and her armoire was built by her grandpa. (It was originally black with no doors (it holds baskets). We added the doors and refinished it in turquoise.)The adorable bookshelf pictured below was a gift made by my friend Leslie. We Mod Podged the giraffe print onto the back. The leaf prints were purchased, and then I added the turquoise picture extenders.
