The Anti Guest Room

Today I'm going to post about guest rooms, because 1| I just had guests and 2| because all I can think about is beds, because I am so tired.  These guest rooms are beautiful. They're simple; they're welcoming; and they're not an air mattress on my floor in the middle of my living room. You see, when people come stay at my house (which I love), they get the anti guest room: hard floors, mismatched blankets, and no privacy...unless there's just one of you, then you get Stella's bedroom and bathroom. Unfortunately, that means she's in our room on our floor. Don't get me wrong, I love that girl, and I love to share. BUT, when she's in our room...no one gets good sleep! So, someday, when we have a proper guest room, I promise you it will be wonderful. It will be pretty and comfortable. (And it will be in the basement, so that if you want to run from the bedroom to the bathroom in your undies, no one will ever know.) Yes, it will be good. Let's be honest, it can only go uphill from here.

  3. Oh, I want the one with the black and white and interesting patterns. LOVE that. My guest room is the least inviting room in my house--and that's saying a lot. :/ --Lisa

  5. Oh how I miss having a guest room! These are all so beautiful, too. I love the idea of a basket next to the bed to hold extra pillows and blankets!

  7. We actually have a guest room now that the kids have grown and moved out. But we rarely use it. I end up using the room for sewing projects. And my granddaughter sleeps there when she spends the night or naps here (she's 3-1/2). We've been calling it Ivy's room so maybe it's not a guest room after all.

    Those rooms are gorgeous!

  8. Love your Blog, glad I found it!

I love a guest room. I am almost finished my guest room, all done in whites, with a lovely four poster bed....just need a flat screen tv, and we are done ;-) It is such a lovely room that I walk in and I feel like I am a guest in my own home. I love all the pics and am sure your guest room will be beautiful as you have great taste!

  9. Wonderful inspiration photos - alas, I do not have a guest room in my current home - I have too much furniture and too small of a space. I could give up my little dining room, or my workroom and make one of them a guest room (they both have a table), but I like having the small cozy dining room (that is never really used) and i need the workroom for all the books etc (actually there are books in the dining room too). We live in an older home where you kind of wander in a circle, so really our bedroom is the most private room in the house. So, if we have guest an air mattress it will be. It is a pretty comfy air mattress. Sorry, I tend to ramble. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.
