Just a Touch of Paint

I'm definitely a sucker for an all white room, but there's no denying the complete and utter awesomeness of the paint in these rooms. I mean, really, how yummy is that lilac in the first picture, the bold stripes in the second, and don't even get me started on the ceiling in the last.  I love them all, especially the lilac. And, of course I would need the couch to go with it. And obviously, the windows...

[color kreyv]: Mint & Navy

I'm not going to lie; these rooms are pretty freaking adorable. I'm super loving the mint and navy combo, aren't you? I feel like navy is a hard color, meaning it's dark and anchors a space. This sounds crazy, but I'm going to say it anyway, because, well, that boat sailed long ago. If colors had personalities, navy would be the serious color. Mint, on the other hand, is soft; it's playful and light, and I just love the juxtaposition of the two colors.  Another bonus of this combo? It is definitely gender-neutral, which I love.

[color kreyv]: Pale Mint

Springtime has arrived, and I'm definitely feeling the lighter, brighter colors. Today, I'm digging pale mint. I love the way it adds a pop to a room in a subtle, neutral way. In fact, I'm wearing mint as I type. Don't be too impressed though, I'm still in my workout clothes. I worked out, went grocery shopping, folded some laundry…and that about sums it up. Oh, I forgot. I did go out tonight…to our church to help clean. (Remember when "going out" meant going somewhere exciting, not just literally going out of the house?) Please don't be jealous of my life, not everyone is made to handle a life as fabulous as mine.

[color kreyv]: Pastels

It may have been mentioned that I might have a slight obsession with white. Aaand...it may be true. But, do not fear, I am not completely voiding my life of color, I still LOVE a good pastel in a kid's space or nursery. Who am I kidding? I LOVE a good pastel, period. Pastel greens, blues, yellows, and pinks? Don't mind if I do!

[color kreyv]: Mint Green & Pink

Is it just me, or is everyone thinking Ummm, whoa. Where did summer go? Don't get me wrong. I don't feel one bit bad about it, because I LOVE fall (and I try really hard not to think about what comes after fall). Anyway, like it or not, here are some bright, sunny, pink and mint pictures for those of you who just can't seem to let go of summer. For the rest of us, we can enjoy these too, because let's be honest, they're just plain pretty.

Color in the Kitchen

Aren't these kitchens gorgeous? Do you think their fabulousness (totally a word) would rub off on me and make me a better cook? Yeah, I don't think so, either. The other night, I told Mr. Hubs that I just wasn't a good cook. "I think you're a great cook and super hot..." is what he should of said. BUT, what he actually said was, "Well, do you want to take a cooking class?" And then I said, "I sure don't, but you can."

[color kreyv]: Mint Green

I'm definitely lovin' me some mint green lately. I love its beachy, subtle tone. Speaking of beachy (which the autocorrect insists on changing to "be achy"), does anyone else realize that it is almost June?! How did that happen? I have to say that despite the nasty St. Louis summers, I'm glad to see it come. June means that the hubs is almost done with one more year of residency; that we are nearing a full week of vacation/trip to Chi-town and Milwaukee; and that the pool will be opening! Hooray! Let's all savor this optimism. Once the temperatures, humidity, and heat index rise, you won't see it for a while. I'm just sayin.'

[color kreyv]: Coral & Mint

I've had this color palette on the mind lately as an option for Stella's room. Little Miss is getting ready to transition to a big girl bed, and of course, I can't just get a new bed. She obviously needs a new room. Her room is so 2.5 years ago, AND I may or may not have a little bit of decor ADD. We'll just blame it on Stella and her needs as a two and a half year old. Don't judge. The hubs seems to be going along with it, so I say let's give the girl a new room.

[color kreyv]: Mint Green

Mint green is so retro. It can be playful, modern, and sophisticated. I love it! If you could choose any era based solely on its style, what would it be? I would definitely choose the sixties. Most of all, I love the clothes. I actually have three of my mom's dresses from the sixties. I've actually worn two of them out, and I got a lot of compliments. Plus, I felt cool saying they were vintage 1969. I love the bold prints (even though I don't incorporate a lot of prints into my own wardrobe, hmmm), I love the straight, simple lines of tent and shift dresses, and let's be honest, bellbottoms are just plain groovy.
