Battle of the Beds | Four Poster Beds

So...I haven't blogged in a while. As Stella says, "I got distracted." (For two (or more) weeks...story of my life.) The good news? I have made EVERY single decision for the new house. Of course, that doesn't include interior design, just all of the other stuff. I'm sure there will be plenty of time to lose sleep think over the interior. It's moving fast, and we're super excited!

So, speaking of the interior, something super annoying has happened: Jeremy all of a sudden has opinions on decor. I'm like, "Dude, this is my thing. I don't go around your clinic telling you what to do with your patients. Stella needs a four poster bed in her room.  Who cares if it blocks your line of vision, and since when did you start using the phrase line of vision?" I know. He's ridiculous. I knew you'd agree with me. So, let's look at some of inspiration pics for Stella's bed, shall we?

[color kreyv]: Emerald Green

How absolutely gorgeous is emerald green? I love it. It is so bold, refreshing, and sophisticated. I think I have pinned the first image at least three times. I want those chairs for my own dining room table. I'm pretty sure that if I had those chairs, all I'd need is a crown--and I'm really not opposed to that.

Lovely, Lovely Beds

Happy Monday!! (Did the extra exclamation point help--even a little?) Sometimes Mondays remind me that I'm not as young and spry as I used to be. (Using the word "spry" doesn't exactly make me sound young, either.) Every now and again, I do something crazy over the weekend like stay up past midnight (and by "past midnight", I mean 12:30). I swear, it takes me three days to recover. Today is one of those times, and I honestly feel like I need a full day to just sleep. Speaking of sleep, how gorgeous are these beds? I would be totally fine with one of each.  And then taking a good three hour nap in each of them, just to try them out. #inmydreams #nopunintended #whatswiththehashtags #tryingtostayyoung #ish

Would You Rather | Beach vs Mountains

You know when you talk to someone you haven't seen for a while, and they ask you what's new? I swear, I can never think of anything. Is my life really that boring? I mean, I guess I could tell them how awesome the Costco samples were this week. (They were really  awesome.) Or, that I finally bought these a-mazing vases from West Elm, which really are amazing, btw…and on sale. I need something better to say.

I have a solution. We need either a cabin in the mountains or a beach house. That would be exciting, right? It would definitely give us something to do on the weekends. And, I promise, I would invite you all to come whenever you wanted, because I'm nice like that and because this is all pretend. So, which would you rather have: beach house or cabin? Since the sky seems to be the limit on this here blog, I think I probably need one of each. Don't worry, you can visit both.

Four Poster Beds X Two (Minus One)

Sooo, I think I may have a slight obsession  with four poster beds. You're just realizing this, you say? Yes. Yes I am. This weekend, West Elm had 30% off rugs, so I knew I had to snag the rug for Stella's next bedroom (found here). It was like $100 off, so when I say had to, I mean it. Anyway, when I was trying to figure out what size to get, I had to think of which bed or beds she would have in said room. You know I LOVE two four poster beds (and one one poster bed, for that matter), but we really don't need a house with an excessive amount of four poster beds. So, instead, I think we will move our bed into Stella's room, and we will get a four poster bed--one that is large enough that Husband doesn't blow in my face when we are both facing the same direction. (You know what I'm talking about.) Are you wondering if we're moving into a new house with all this furniture talk and planning?  The answer is no, we're not, but that would be pretty awesome, wouldn't it?!  I just like to plan for my next, (as of now, imaginary) house.  And, let's be honest, it's good to prepared. With rugs. Lots and lots of rugs.

My Someday List | Top 3 Items

My someday list is a list of things that I want when we build or buy a home. Someday. I'll be honest, the list is pretty long, but I can definitely narrow down my top three: an awesome four poster bed; a big ol' table (with upholstered chairs which is actually Jeremy's request, so I'll definitely pretend that I don't care about them and make sure it doesn't come out of my decorating budget); and a white kitchen with white subway tile and dark grout. What's on your someday list?

To. Die. For. | Beautiful Bedrooms

Let's just stop and take a moment...I mean, really, are we so dying over these rooms or what? Gor. Geous. Speaking of bedrooms, I'm seriously considering getting one of my own. In a hotel. Poor Stella has had a rough time adjusting to the move, and she gets up almost every night--more than once. It starts with a trip to the bathroom (regardless of when we cut her off from liquids), and then she attempts to climb into bed with us. (Ummm, if you're not Daddy, get back into your own bed.) I take her back to her room, where she willingly goes, but she returns one to two more times each night. Holy cow, you're killin' me, Smalls, you're killin' me!  It's a good thing that little girl is so freaking cute! And, I'm hoping that like with everything else pertaining to raising children, that this is just a phase...that will end VERY soon. Now, let's just look again at these beautiful bedrooms and pretend I'm taking an uninterrupted nap.

This is Where I Wanna Be | Fabulous Beds

So you know how I was super stressed out last week, then decided to just STOP? Well...I did. I'm really not stressed...but I'm freaking tired! My body is still on last week's can't fall asleep, then wake up too early schedule.(Don't you hate that when you lie down at night, and your brain goes a million miles an hour--unless you're a man, and you fall asleep in roughly .2 seconds?) Anywho, I'm tired, and I'm wishing I could just lay in bed and watch Friends reruns all day long. I think I'd look just darling in one of these (in my pink robe, of course). Which one is your fave?

What $1300 Will Buy You

Remember that one day when I took my Mr. Hubs' car to the dealership, and it needed over $1200 worth of work done to it? And then, the very next day, I got a ticket for $100 and a picture of me running a red light in the mail? And, remember when I could have sworn that when Mr. Hubs opened that piece of mail, he kind of grinned, because he was happy that it was me and not him this time? Remember when I made that grin go away as soon as I reminded him that this was the only ticket I'd gotten since we've been married, and that he's had...a few more? That was my Friday and Saturday. Don't even get me started on everything and anything else that I could have spent that money on. Car problems and tickets are definitely at the top of my list of things I hate to spend money on.  So, what will $1300 buy you? For you, any one of these three things. For me? A red light ticket and car repairs. Ugh. You win some, you lose some, right?!

[color kreyv]: Blush

Pretty. Pretty. Pretty. I love this color. It makes me feel calm. And kind of fancy, too. I love feeling calm and fancy. It's much better than anxious and scroungy. Wouldn't you agree?

Just Dreamy

I love a four poster bed, and I probably wouldn't mind just having any one of these bedrooms. I mean, really, they're all kind of awesome. So, whoever is keeping track of my wish list, you have some flexibility here. You also have some time, because, quite frankly, after the sister's visit, I could fall asleep on the floor under a newspaper. I'm plumb tuckered out. (I'm totally going to have to research the origin of that phrase, because now that I wrote it, I realize how weird it is.) Anyway, I'm tired...but in a good way...in a stayed up too late talking, shopped all day, hauled around two sassy toddlers, had so much fun way.  So, farewell, Brittni & Presley. Welcome back, sleep.

[color kreyv]: Fuchsia

Geez. That has to be like the hardest color to spell. I seriously doubted the autocorrect, but that is really how you spell it. Hmmmm. Good to know. I love touches of fuchsia here and there. I don't have any here OR there...yet. But, I will soon be adding some Gallery Wall goodness to my home. Problem. Solved. (If, in fact, not having fuchsia in my house is a problem!)

Want in on the action? Don't forget to enter the Gallery Wall Giveaway. Sarah's watercolors are amaze-balls! (I'm currently watching Giuliana & Bill, so I couldn't resist using that word! Love her!) So, in summary: f-u-c-h-s-i-a is the correct spelling, you need it in your home, and you need to enter the giveaway, stat! Any questions?

[color kreyv]: Periwinkle

I've never been a big purple person, but I have to say, these periwinkle rooms are very beautiful. Plus, isn't it just fun to say periwinkle? Give it a try why dontcha?! I think I like periwinkle, because it has some blue undertones, and blue I can totally do. I absolutely want the quilt in the first picture, which by the way is the home of Brooke Shields. Her entire house is gorgeous. I could move right in! I'm sure she'd just love to have me!

In potty training news, we had a great dayIf I'm stuck home for one more day I might explode, but it was a good day. It will all be worth it. Perhaps I should have done my potty training at Brooke's house, or is that too much for a first visit?

[color kreyv]: Red & Pink

Are red and pink not the quintessential colors for Valentine's Day? And, I have to say, they look good together in a room. (Minus the red for me. You know I'm scared of red.) Valentine's Day is less than a week away. Seriously? It's going to be summer before we know it. I decided We established early on in our marriage that Valentine's Day is a girl holiday. Don't get me wrong. I'm not opposed to getting my husband gifts, and I am AWESOME in that department, but when it comes to V-Day, girls are really the ones who love to be spoiled. Chocolates, flowers, and all of that froo froo stuff is just not appreciated by men. So I say, why waste Godiva, roses, and diamonds when they're happy with a bag of peanut M&Ms and having control over the remote? Know what I mean?

I'd Look Good in That

There is just something totally glamorous about a four poster bed. If I had to choose a new bed (I'm sure I'd really need some arm-twisting), I would definitely go with a four poster. In fact, I've wanted a four poster ever since I was little and fell in love with my neighbor Gayle's canopy bed. (Everything she had was THE coolest.)

I had a four poster bed when I was in high school. It's still at my mom's house. I talked my mom into letting me sell my entire bedroom set, and then I got a queen size four poster bed. I had no other furniture in the room. There wasn't enough space, but man, that bed was awesome! It was actually my third bed I had as a child--right after my daybed phase. Apparently I've always had this furniture buying, room changing sickness--unless it's normal for children ask for new furniture and wallpaper for Christmas. Every year. Starting at age six.
