[color kreyv]: Navy Blue

I know this is a shocker, but I want everything in these pictures. I am seriously considering changing my bathroom vanities to navy. Yumm-ee. Speaking of blue, let's talk about the awkward party and the blue jeans I wore to said party--a "casual work get-together" according to Jeremy.  Yeah...not so much.  We walked into the room, and people were in suits, tuxes, cocktail dresses, and even a few floor-length gowns…and there I was in my faded jeans.  It. Was. Awesome. Nothing like an awkward party to get the year started off right.

I am a sucker for navy, and I love adding a pale peach or pink to the mix. It's kind of got a hard and soft thing going on. Speaking of hard and soft, my soft baby is crying really hard, so...gotta run.  In summary: peach, navy, good.

[color kreyv]: Black & Navy

Remember back in the day when navy and black was a total no-no? Well, as you know, that is SO not the case anymore. That's what I love about design and fashion. You don't have to worry about your forest green and peach getting mixed up with your country blue and dusty rose, you can mix them together, if you're ever so inclined. (Remember how cool those colors were in the 90's?!) Navy and black is a do-as-you-please combination and definitely a yes in my book. Check out these stunners.

Just a Touch of Paint

I'm definitely a sucker for an all white room, but there's no denying the complete and utter awesomeness of the paint in these rooms. I mean, really, how yummy is that lilac in the first picture, the bold stripes in the second, and don't even get me started on the ceiling in the last.  I love them all, especially the lilac. And, of course I would need the couch to go with it. And obviously, the windows...

[color kreyv]: Mint & Navy

I'm not going to lie; these rooms are pretty freaking adorable. I'm super loving the mint and navy combo, aren't you? I feel like navy is a hard color, meaning it's dark and anchors a space. This sounds crazy, but I'm going to say it anyway, because, well, that boat sailed long ago. If colors had personalities, navy would be the serious color. Mint, on the other hand, is soft; it's playful and light, and I just love the juxtaposition of the two colors.  Another bonus of this combo? It is definitely gender-neutral, which I love.

[color kreyv]: Navy

Hey, you guuyys...did you miss me? I must say, I have been having THE greatest time with my fam and friends. First, there was Disney, which was a-mazing (more on that later); then, we came home to BBQs, pool time, and a side of pedis and brunch with the girls. Of course, with so much fun, there has been a lot bit of neglect on the home front. Seriously, I saw my powder room countertop at eye level today and freaked out at the amount of dust I could see. Don't get me wrong, I didn't freak out enough to actually clean it, but it was a bit disturbing. Ehh, it will have to wait a day. Or two. In the meantime, how amazing is the navy in all of these rooms? I'd definitely rather look at these than my dusty house.

[color kreyv]: Navy on White

I love a good navy and white color story. Today, I'm specifically talking navy on white, not to be confused with white on navy. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a dramatic navy wall, but today, it's all about the navy on white. It's fresh; it's bright; and it's perfect for spring.  (Have I thoroughly confused you, or do you speak crazy as well as I do?)

Yellow can be tricky. Finding the right shade and pairing it in the right combination is key. I actually really like it in subtle tones or small doses...except for when I was in first grade: I liked it bold, and I liked it ALL OVER! Are you ready for a  stroll down memory lane?  Come with me, won't you? 

Per usual, I asked for a new room for Christmas. My mom (bless her), let me pick out my own wallpaper.  Picture it: white with a yellow floral pattern on top, separated by a bright yellow chair rail, and then the bottom had a coordinating pattern with a subtle, shiny pearl finish. To contrast the wallpaper, as well as coordinate with the green leafs, my carpet was forest green. I had a super pale yellow dresser with an oval mirror, a brass headboard with lots of curls in the design, and white bedding. It. Was. Awesome.  A few years later, I started to add peach, because peach and forest green were the "it" colors, and, of course, I had to have a daybed. A few years after that, I asked for new wallpaper and new furniture. Well, actually I sold all of my furniture and got a queen-sized four poster bed. (Mom, I am SO sorry I talked you into letting me sell that adorable, probably really expensive furniture…but thanks.)  Shortly after that, we moved, so I got another new room.  I lived in that house for a few years, and then I went to college, moved a lot, and got new rooms. And then I got married, moved a lot, and got new rooms. I'm totally seeing a pattern here, and I'm very scared for my husband.

Round & Around We Go | Round Dining Tables

I don't know that I would ever buy a round table only because they don't seem to fit as many people as a rectangular table. Yes, I have a practical side. It's very small, but it still exists. (Plus, I have big dreams of big dinner parties--remember the whole upholstered seating situation, the one with my RH table and pizza?) BUT, practical or not, I love them. Something about them is so glamorous and chic. In fact, I think I just talked myself into a round table--maybe in the basement as a game table. Perfect. See how practical I am?

[color kreyv]: Navy, Green, & Brown

During my infatuation with cowhide ottomans yesterday, I remembered an ottoman that appeared in Kristin Cavallari's living room when she was on The Hills, so I looked it up. (Of course I was paying attention to their homes. And clothes. Duh.) I LOVE that room (pic 1) and the navy, green, and brown palette.  But, if you ask me, that ottoman should be facing the other direction. Kristin, if you can't get it right, just hand it over, mmmkay?  It's clearly not getting the love it deserves.  Speaking of love, come back tomorrow for an awesome giveaway! You know you want to.

I actually refer to this green as wasabi, but people make fun of me for it, so we'll just stick with green (even though it's clearly wasabi). Whatever you call it, it looks fab with navy and tastes great with sushi.

I've never been much of a pink kind of girl, with the exception of my neon anything phase during the fourth grade(i.e. shirt clips, bobbles for my hair, layers of socks--scrunched, of course, etc.). But that's different. You have to wear neon when you have crimped hair. That's a no-brainer. This pink, though, with this navy...come on. It's just beautiful. Like, totally.

Can I just say I have the best husband ever? Besides putting up with all of my decorating ridiculousness, he really takes care of me. Over the weekend, I could feel that I was finally getting what everyone else has had, and today (Tuesday), I felt horrible. So, the hubs gets off of a 7pm to 7am trauma shift, takes Stella to Little Gym, does the grocery shopping, feeds Stella, puts her down for a nap, and does a load of laundry...all before he goes to bed at noon (and to work again at 7pm). That means I had from about 9am to 3pm (when Stella woke up) to rest, which was much needed. Geez, I'm lucky!

In other news, are we loving the navy and orange combo, or what? I think I'm going to have to add some orange to my living room, dontcha think? I love the classic navy with the vibrant orange. It just wakes up the rooms! Speaking of waking up, I need to go to bed. I've got a big day tomorrow. For playgroup, we are going to the outlet malls (awesome playgroup, right?) and these GAP rewards are just burning a hole in my pocket. Don't worry, shopping is the best medicine. It miraculously makes me feel healthy and alive again.  I'll come back a whole new person, OR I'll make myself even sicker than I am now. Either way, I'll have something new to wear, and that already makes me feel better just thinking about it!

In the Dark

How long will it take me to stop thinking,"Well, it's really an hour later than the clock shows." It's not. The time on the clock is the right time. I need to deal with Daylight Savings and the new getting dark at 5pm business! The darkness in these rooms, though, is something I could definitely get used to. Ab-so-lute-ly stunning.
