[so cheap, so easy]: Jute Twine Art

For those of you who missed my guest post at UCreate, today is your lucky day, cause it's back, baby!  My jute twine art is cheap and easy aaand super chic! I hope you like it!
Here's what you'll need:
-  Frames (I used these frames from Ikea, but anything with a mat will work.)
-  Jute Twine
-  Tape (I used painter's tape, because it can be removed easily from the mat if needed, but any strong tape will work.)
-  Poster Board for Background
-  Paint for Background (I used Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage.)
-  Paintbrush

Now for the whopper of a tutorial:
one) paint your poster board, and cut it to size; two) tape the twine to the back of the mat in the pattern of your choice; three) assemble your frame, and hang it up! Yup, that's it. When I said easy, I wasn't joking.

Sneak Peek: Robyn | Cleverly Yours

Today, we will be peeking inside the home of fashion blogger, Robyn from Cleverly, Yours. Check out her favorite space, then hop on over to her blog to see more of her and her style.

Hello, lovely readers! I am Robyn from Cleverly, Yours, where I blog about life, fashion, and funny things from time to time. I am a Utah girl who grew up in a small town but have anything but a small town sense for fashion! I love my husband, and I love what I do. I would love for you to come by anytime and read a little more about me! Every once in a while, I will post pictures of my home, and I am so excited to be sharing one of my favorite spaces with you all today!
Today, I am showing off my office, which is very simple, but still one of my favorite places to be in my home! I've realized in a quick hurry, when trying to fill my new home, less is almost always more and usually looks so much cleaner! Especially when decorating a more modern designed home, I have found that I have wanted to let the modern pieces and design in the home do the majority of my decorating. However, when it came to my office, I had a few ideas in mind.
I wanted a clean look and things that wouldn't distract from when I am working in my office, so I stuck with a clean, white desk with fun black and white accents here and there. The little fur overhang on my desk was actually an accident when I just placed it there to get it out of my way when deciding what to do with it. I ended up loving how it looked on top of the desk!
What kind of fashion blogger would I be without fashion magazines?! I follow up and read as much as I can and have to include these lovelies into my space (without looking cluttered, of course)!
My simple, yet fabulous (and I might I add real) bamboo sticks are another favorite, along with my little peace sign guy. More simplicity, and when I see bamboo, it reminds me of spas and zen-like things, so I want to have bamboo all over my house! (Funny that I mention that, because my floors are actually a dark stained bamboo, so technically, I DO have it all over my house!)
A classic (and often used) photo of Audrey Hepburn was a must. I love the classics, and Audrey Hepburn is an absolute fashion icon. Plus, this photo is so classy!

I hope you love my space as much as I do, and feel free to stop by my blog to see lots more of my spaces as well as my take on fashion! XOXO, Cleverly, Yours...

Sneak Peek: Lish | imprintalish

Today, I will be featuring the home of Lish from imprintalish. Lish has such a great blog with a little bit of everything: diy, photography, fashion, recipes, decor, and family. Check out her favorite space, then go take a look at her blog and etsy shop. That sounded bossy...but you really should check it out!

Hehey! My name is Lish, and I am the creator behind imprintalish, a lifestyle blog that focuses on photography and pretty things. I love to be inspired by things around me, and that's what I hope to translate through my blog, from photographing every day moments to curating beautiful finds! As a mama to two little guys, a wife of almost ten years, a designer and small business owner, finding balance is a constant battle, but I find refuge in nail polish and a good diy!
My favorite space in our house is the kitchen. As a chronic DIY'er, I always have something on the go in each room in my house...pillows for the kids' rooms, photos for the master bedroom, desk chair for my office...The kitchen is the only room that I can say is officially done, which is why it's my favorite.
Although very small, the kitchen connects all of our rooms. The kids run through there a million times a day, when I'm not making meals and snacks, I'm quickly putting together some projects or sketching up some brilliant plan at the counter, putting dishes away or quickly flipping through a magazine.

Right off the kitchen is my office, and that's where I spend my 'other' hours, so the kitchen is never far from sight or mind. It truly is the hub of our home and speaks volumes in terms of my personal style! From the colorful curtains, the chicken wire pendant lamp, to the quirky photo wall, this whole space is totally me! See more of the design process here!

Sneak Peek: McKenna | McKenna Bleu

Today, I would like to feature the home of another fave fashion blogger, McKenna Bleu. Check out McKenna's favorite space, and then check out her amazing outfits at McKenna Bleu!

Hello, Lovelies! My name is McKenna Bleu. I'm a 20 something fashion junkie! In my world, I believe every day is a good day to wear a tutu! I have a personal style blog filled with outfit inspiration, beauty tips, and my love for travel. I would love for you to stop by and say hello, McKenna Bleu! I was so honored when the fabulous Jamie contacted me about sharing my room with you.
This is my tiny, one bedroom apartment in Boston. It's not exactly the way I want it, yet, but like everything, it is a work in progress. I often dream of a oversized, cozy, white couch and carefully sipping a big glass of red wine...but until then, our tan one will do!
Lately, I've been obsessed with soft gray and white tones. My pillow choices are also a reflection of my clothing choices. I LOVE bright pops of color and mixing prints.

Photographs make me weak, who doesn't love walking into someone's home and checking out all of the special memories captured in a photograph? So people may say it's a little much...and then what's up with that deer head? I just laugh and say, "Why blend in when you were born to stand out?"

I think people's homes say a lot about a person. This living room pretty much sums me up to a tee and makes me happy! Thanks for letting me share my favorite space in my home, and I hope you will pop over to my blog and say hello! XOXO

Sneak Peek: Cara | Cara Loren

I am super nosy curious when it comes to other people's homes, and I LOVE to see how they live. I asked a few of my favorite bloggers to give us a peek into one of their favorite rooms. Today's guest: Cara from Cara Loren.

Hello all you lovely readers! My name is Cara Loren, and I write the blog Cara Loren. It is all about fashion, beauty, family, and well it has just about everything! I really have a passion for my blog and all my sweet followers. My followers are why I continue to blog, and I am grateful for each and every one of them. I definitely have a passion for fashion. I love trying new things and being inspired by others. I thought I would start a blog, because I was hoping others would be inspired by me. You have to wear clothes, so you might as well love them and feel good in them! I hope you enjoy my blog and following my little family's fun little journey!
I chose my office as my little office as my favorite space, because I believe it's the space that explains me best. It's glamorous with a little edge, which is exactly what I love. I wanted a look that I knew I wouldn't get sick of in a month, and this truly is it.

The jewelry shelves were exactly what I needed to store my jewelry in a fun and decorative way. I am the type of girl who likes to see it all displayed, so I can remember what I have and not forget to wear it. This is the perfect solution. The bottom shelf had to be empty for a while because of my little man but is finally filled with all my favorite pairs of heels. And trust me, it is the finishing touch that it needed!
One of my favorite pieces that I found was this royal blue velour chair--it is everything that I was searching for. It may sound silly, but chairs are really hard for me to find!
I decided to get a little crafty and hand paint my accent wall. It was an entirely experimental process, but it turned out to be perfect. I wanted something that I had never seen anywhere else, and I think that is exactly what I got. I love my office, and it is definitely my favorite space!

Thank you so much, Cara! Show Cara some love and check out her  fabulous blog, where you can drool over her hair, clothes, and adorbs little boy, Hanes! Also, don't forget to mark your calendars for our networking event tomorrow. Go here for information on The Facebook Exchange.

Merry Christmas to ME!

You can't see me right now, but I'm doing a happy dance! Today, I am the featured blogger on SITS Girls. Check them out. They're kind of a big deal. If you're visiting for the very first time, welcome and thanks. Here are a few facts about me to get you up to speed:

I'm kind of obsessed with interior design. I think about interior design and ways I could change my house about one million, seven hundred thousand, twenty-one times a day. That is also the number of times I have actually changed my house. [] I never exaggerate. [] I can't hardly wait for the hubs to finish his medical residency, so we can buy a house and decorate the heck out of it. We have two years left of residency/fellowship. Getting to this point has taken us all 11 years of our marriage. [] Sometimes I like to take credit for my husband's accomplishments, even though I had nothing to do with them. It's okay, his family gives me all of the credit as well. I'll take what I can get. [] I have THE cutest little girl in the world. Her name is Stella. She's kind of the main event over at our place. [] I have a love/hate relationship with DIY projects. If you love a good DIY, check out my [so cheap, so easy] series. [] If you want to know more, check out my about page, my family blog, and/or my house tour on the right side of the blog. Most popular posts are at the bottom of the blog. (I'm now pointing my arms as an airline attendant would do. It's not that funny, because you can't see me.) [] Sometimes my impressions, dances, and other random actions don't translate well on paper. Just use your imagination, and imagine me being really funny, mmmkay? Now, go ahead, take a look around! And again, thanks for visiting me today!

Beautiful, Beautiful Floors

Are these floors gorgeous OR WHAT?! And, speaking of gorg, I would die for that kitchen in the first picture. All of it, unless that appliance is a coffee maker...I don't drink coffee, but everything else, including the lettuce...I'll take it. I don't know if I would ever dare paint wood floors, but I love the light and dark alternating wood. I would definitely do that.  More accurately, I would pay and/or watch someone else do it.
In other news, check out my guest post today over at Strictly Simple Style where I talk about making your house beautiful on a budget. I realize that, while this topic hasn't been my strong suit as of late (see furniture debacle post), I can, in fact, make some pretty cheap and easy projects! Check it out!

[color kreyv]: Moss Green

So I know that moss comes in many different shades, but for today, these pictures will represent moss green, mmmkay? This crazy weather is making me think it's springtime. I know better. I know I'm in for a rude awakening. I know there's gotta be some snow out there somewhere. Hopefully, it will stay out of Missouri. Hopefully. In the meantime, I am loving green. Bright, vibrant, fresh, beautiful green. I've always loved green, but it's like I'm rediscovering it all over again. It's my newfound love. I know. I can't believe I'm talking about a color like that either. But I am. Sometimes I make myself sick. In other news, check out my guest post (and a brand new project) over at Living Savvy.

[color kreyv]: Turquoise

In honor of my guest post today at The Turquoise Piano, I thought I would feature more turquoise. Kelli obviously loves turquoise, and I don't blame her one bit. It's pretty much amazing and it goes with everything. (Speaking of amazing, let's talk about that art in the first picture. How hard could it be? Someone should make it. I would, but I'm out of walls, and the hubs is out of patience.) Anyway, Kelli is a super talented DIYer. We also went to middle school and high school together, which makes her extra cool. So go check out her blog! (That sounded bossy. Let me rephrase, if you would like to, you should visit her blog. I strongly recommend it. Better, right?)

I'd Like to Thank the Academy...

Andrea @ Decorating Cents, you made my day! Thank you so much for this award, really. I was having that kind of a week, you know the husband on call too much, take the baby to the dentist, grocery shop in the rain, look like a wet dog, headachey, on the phone with tech support forever, door-to-door sales woman "you-whooing" me at the door, so that I'm tricked into opening the door and listening to a luh-ong schpill, car gets rear-ended kind of week? Yeah. It was that awesome. And then, I got this little gem, which, let's be honest, would of been the highlight of any week. It's good to know people actually read this blog. I know you're out there, but you have to admit, you're a quiet bunch, and sometimes, I just hear crickets. Chirp, chirp...So, after ALL of that, thank you Andrea for giving me this award!

Here are the rules:
1. Thank the person who gave it to you (check).
2. Share seven things about yourself (seven very deep, meaningful things like my love for chocolate chip cookies and Real Housewives, deep).
3. Nominate 10 blogs you have been enjoying lately (only 10?).

Seven Things:
1. My favorite foods are soft chocolate chip cookies (not too many chips, please), good bread, and salads that someone else makes. Don't ever ask me to give up complex carbohydrates. It will never, ever happen.
2. I cry when I see other people cry, even if it's on tv.
3. I HATE working out my lower body, especially lunges.
4. Guilty pleasure(s): The Real Housewives. Every episode is like a train wreck, I tell you. I just can't seem to pull myself away.
5. I have had the best time of my life in my 10 years of marriage. During that time, I have been by the hubs through undergrad, medical school, an internship, now a residency, and soon a fellowship. I'm not going to lie. I can't wait until he goes into private practice and makes real money. I'm just being honest. Money's not everything, but I really like it. A lot.
6. I have the cutest daughter in the entire world. She's almost two, and sometimes I literally cry just thinking about how quickly she is growing up. Is this normal?
7. I may or may not be OCD. Okay, I am definitely OCD...or CDO. "It's like OCD, but all the letters are in alphabetical order as they should be." via pinterest

10 Blogs I'm Digging Lately:
1. Becoming Betty
2. Little Miss Momma
3. Alamode
4. A Thoughtful Place
5. Hare Styling
6. eighteen25
7. 6th Street Design School
8. Paralyzed with Joy
