[color kreyv]: Gold Pendants

How fabulous are these gold pendants? I definitely feel the need to say fabulous (I'd even go as far as fab) when describing the lighting in these spaces. I think I kind of need them as soon as I get a house. And a white kitchen. And, of course, space for two or three gold pendants.  I've got goals, people.

Lovely, Lovely Beds

Happy Monday!! (Did the extra exclamation point help--even a little?) Sometimes Mondays remind me that I'm not as young and spry as I used to be. (Using the word "spry" doesn't exactly make me sound young, either.) Every now and again, I do something crazy over the weekend like stay up past midnight (and by "past midnight", I mean 12:30). I swear, it takes me three days to recover. Today is one of those times, and I honestly feel like I need a full day to just sleep. Speaking of sleep, how gorgeous are these beds? I would be totally fine with one of each.  And then taking a good three hour nap in each of them, just to try them out. #inmydreams #nopunintended #whatswiththehashtags #tryingtostayyoung #ish

[color kreyv]: Touch of Gold

You know yesterday's post about how I may have a few, very minor, not-weird-at-all OCD tendencies? So, as I was writing it, I asked Jeremy what he thought were some of the craziest things that I do. His answer:  "You are always wiping off the countertops, and you always make the beds, even when you know Stella will take a nap later." Really? REALLY?  I was like, "Dude, that's just called being clean." Men…am I right?! Oh, and if you think this post should have something to do with gold, then here it is: I love a touch of gold in every room, don't you?

[color kreyv]: A Touch of Gold

I love me a little touch of gold here and there…unless it's real gold. I'm pretty sure I would like big touches of that.  That's all--just a few pretty pictures and one big deep thought for the day.

[so cheap, so easy]: DIY Urchins

Who doesn't love a super posh, shiny, spiky ball thingy? I know. They're pretty amazing. Aaand cheap. Aaand easy. I have pinned quite a few of these throughout the year or years, or however long Pinterest has been around, but I have yet to make one. I need to get on that. I feel like I'm totally missing out. I have included three different pictures with three different links and tutorials. On your mark, get set, go!

What Color Are You?

I've always thought color psychology to be very interesting. When I was 12 or 13, I went to girls camp, and there was a presentation about color. I tried to be a yellow...the fun color, but CLEARLY I'm a red. Clearly. This post on House of Fifty was about being drawn to certain colors and what it may say about our personality. I thought it was super interesting, and hey, if being drawn to white, black, and gray means that I'm conservative, honorable, reliable, individualistic, innocent, disciplined, and strong-willed aka boring, I'll take it. Fortunately, there are no negative adjectives on any color, so it's pretty much a feel-good exercise! So, what color(s) are you drawn to, and does this describe you?

[color kreyv]: Black & Gold

Black and gold are all the rage right now. I should know. At this very moment, I am wearing black and gold pants, and I've had them for years. They have a draw string waist and say PINK down the side. I know. I could totally strut my stuff on the red carpet right now with my top knot and t-shirt that, for some reason, to Stella, looks like a kleenex. You know me--just keeping it classy.

[color kreyv]: Gold

I love gold. When I was little, I had a brass headboard, coatrack, and shelf. Then, I went through a long phase of anti gold and brass. I only wanted silver...and now I'm back to gold. Actually, now I'm all about mixing silver and gold and any other metal that suits your fancy. And, speaking of fancy, I love that gold is fancy, but not too formal...just super chic. I like fancy. And chic. And not too formal. It's a good way to be.

[so cheap, so easy]: Brass Frames

When I posted about mixing metals the other day, I remembered this fabulous project that Courtney from A Thoughtful Place shared on her blog. (Everything she does is gorgeous!) She added brass to her existing black frames using only spray paint and painters tape--ummm, genius! Check out the full tutorial here. Love it!

Mixing Metals, Don't Mind If I Do...

Remember when you absolutely did not mix silver and gold? It was one or the other. Well, guess what: SO not the rule anymore. Mix. It. Up. I just bought my first gold item--an itty, bitty fabulous gold frame, and I can't wait to add more gold to me casa. (Sometimes I go all bilingual on myself, wait till I pull out la francais. Correction: trilingual.) Mixing metals gives such a cool, collected look which I've decided is something I'm lacking in my house. So, I've pretty much got to take care of that problem, because nobody likes a problem, right? Sigh*. The things I do for my family...
