[color kreyv]: Light Pink

I LOVE me a nice, soft pink. I think it's a lot more versatile than some people may think. I mean, let's be honest, pink kind of has a personality of belonging in a little girl's room, but I think it can go anywhere. I'll tell you why. First of all, I love it paired with more masculine hues like navies, dark grays, and even blacks. Second of all, a little bit can go a long way. Just adding light pink in a piece of art, a throw, or a pillow can sometimes be enough. Third of all, it's subtle and calming, and it's just awesome, so you should just add some to your home. I know what you're thinking:  I should have gone into law.

[color kreyv]: Pink

I was going to say pink AND gray, but quite honestly, I'm not a hundred percent sure what color is in all of the pictures. I'm using the laptop tonight, and either I'm not used to it, or my eyes are not great.  It could be a combination of the two, but I'm going to blame it on the computer. I'm in total denial about my eyesight.  I love the different hues of pink.  Pink is actually super versatile, which is why I love it. It can go in any room from nursery to living room.  But hey, don't take my word for it, I can't even see which rooms are gray and which rooms are tan. Either way, pink looks great with both!

Colorful Couches

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a good weekend. I did--mostly because I got a brand new, super cute, practically perfect nephew. Oh, and I had lunch with some of my favorite people and later ate sushi at a totally awkward party. Good stuff, and I mean everything, not just the sush. (Yes, I call it sush, which is a super awesome word, because it can be both a noun and a verb (ie. Do you sush?).

Anyway…that was so far off topic, that I had to start a new paragraph. Colorful couches: I love them. I've always thought it would be fun to have one in a sitting room. We are actually going to have a sitting room in our new house, but it's not going to be a sitting room.  It's going to be a roller skating/ballet/piano with no piano room. Yup, it's going to be empty. Completely. Empty.  Sigh…no green couch for me! Oh well, I could really stand to improve on my roller skating skills.

[color kreyv]: Pink

According to Stella, yesterday was the best day ever. She started preschool (I cried, she didn't.); I bought her a kids' meal from Chick-Fil-A, and the toy was, apparently, the coolest thing ever; she got to visit Daddy at the clinic; and she got to go to the dentist, which she loves. I have to agree with Stella and say that yesterday was, indeed, pretty awesome. I had a cookies and cream shake to help drown my sorrows from the preschool drop-off, and I also got to take a nap. It wasn't a long one, but it was a nap. Best. Day. Ever.

Bold Walls | Kids' Rooms

Okay, so how cute are these kids' rooms? I love the bold walls done with just paint and wall decals. This is a great way to go to make a big statement. And, the best part: it's cheaper than large art pieces. The other best part? It can be removed and/or painted over if you're like me and change your mind every other day you change your mind.

[color kreyv]: Pink

Clearly, we can't get away with calling this plain, old pink, but whether or not the colors below are more of a blush or a salmon is debatable. I really just couldn't decide.  I personally think the first picture has both. Regardless, I think we can all agree on the fact that this color is definitely beautiful, and that I can, indeed, type an entire post with one hand while holding Salem with the other.

[color kreyv]: Pink

How amazing are these spaces? There are so many things that I love about each one, and I am so on board with adding some touches of pink for spring--touches of pink in my home and touches of pink to my wardrobe. It probably won't happen, but I would be SO on board if it did. Geez, I want a lot of things...

What's Your Favorite Color?

Is your favorite color in your home? Is this same color in your wardrobe? I thought about this last night when I ordered four new shirts: two white, one cream, and one mint. I'll be honest, the mint one was a stretch for me, and though I really like it, I ordered it, because I "need" more color in my wardrobe.  I know. I'm crazy like that, buying a mint shirt and all. Anyway, there's a point to this post...

This same thing happens all the time with design clients. They tell me that they really like certain colors, but that they "need" to use something different in the next room.  Here are my thoughts: You don't "need" to use different colors in every room. If you are drawn to certain colors, use those colors in your home. I love all of these rooms from the very colorful, to the pastel, to the neutral. But, I am definitely drawn to some more than others. Buy what you like, just because you like it, not because it's a certain color that you "need". I promise you, you'll like your house a lot better, because it will be more you. Plus, you won't end up painting a room yellow, and then covering it up with tan the very next day. I've heard that's kind of a bummer.  What's your favorite color?

[color kreyv]: Pastels

You guys, this Daylight Savings business is kicking my behind. Who would have thought that skipping one hour could totally throw off my game, because it is. And when will I stop thinking to myself, "It's 3:00, but really it's 2:00." I'm giving myself the week to get adjusted, and then I've got to do some major sleep training. On myself.

In other news, aren't these pastels amazing? I'm loving how easy, breezy, beautiful they are (totally stole that).  Kind of makes me want to buy some pastel stuff--change things up a bit.  I know. My problems are much deeper than Daylight Savings. My name is Jamie. I'm an interior design-aholic.

[color kreyv]: Red & Pink

Red and pink, you say? Yes, it can be done. Tastefully. I mean, I probably won't be installing wall to wall pink shag carpet in my house anytime soon, but if it's your thing, own it! In other news, Valentine's Day is tomorrow. Have big plans?!

Rooms (and Lights) for Two

Hey there! How was your long weekend (if you had one)? Ours was fun and busy; although, yesterday, I had major headaches and nausea. Don't feel bad for me, though, I'm afraid I did it to myself. Hubs and I had this bright idea of staying up into all hours of the night/morning finishing season one of The Following. Have you seen it? It's intense…and Netflix is bad news for intense shows. I mean, why stop at one episode when you have the entire season at your disposal? Who cares about real life? Just keep watching. All fun and games until you have to wake up and be Mommy the next day. You guys, I'm getting too old for these shenanigans and by shenanigans, I mean staying up past 10. But anyway…

You know I just love a room with two twin beds, and these, well, these are just another level of design yumminess. I mean really, two beds AND two lights? I'm in love.

[color kreyv]: Pastels

It may have been mentioned that I might have a slight obsession with white. Aaand...it may be true. But, do not fear, I am not completely voiding my life of color, I still LOVE a good pastel in a kid's space or nursery. Who am I kidding? I LOVE a good pastel, period. Pastel greens, blues, yellows, and pinks? Don't mind if I do!

[color kreyv]: Mint Green & Pink

Is it just me, or is everyone thinking Ummm, whoa. Where did summer go? Don't get me wrong. I don't feel one bit bad about it, because I LOVE fall (and I try really hard not to think about what comes after fall). Anyway, like it or not, here are some bright, sunny, pink and mint pictures for those of you who just can't seem to let go of summer. For the rest of us, we can enjoy these too, because let's be honest, they're just plain pretty.

[color kreyv]: Salmon

Yes, it's CLEARLY salmon; not pink, not peach, salmon. Remember the episode of Friends, aka THE best show of all time, where Ross leaves his shirt at Mona's house? Everyone keeps calling the shirt pink, and Ross corrects them each time by telling them it's actually salmon. That crazy Ross, he knew what he was talking about. Anywho, love the show, love the color.  P.S. I welcome anyone who ever dares challenge me at a game of Friends Scene It.  Just putting that out there.

[color kreyv]: Pale Pink

Aren't these rooms just amazing? I'm not one to gravitate toward pink in general, but this pale pink...well, it's just amazing. Know what else is pink and amazing? My long, fuzzy, pale pink robe--but in a non-glamorous, non-flattering, completely opposite way. Mr. Hubs surprised me with it one year for Christmas, and I kind of love it. In fact, if I didn't have anywhere to go, I would seriously stay in that thing all day long, but things like having to run errands, attend social functions, and just being a functioning human being in general force me to ditch the robe for real clothes. There is that occasion, though, that after our daily galavants, I will come home, take off my clothes, and put the robe back on. That way, Jeremy not only gets to see me in the robe when he leaves for work, but also when he gets home.  I know what you're thinking, and you're right, he probably has buyer's remorse he's a lucky, lucky man.

[color kreyv]: Blush

Blush, not to be confused with light pink or pale pink, is my favorite shade of pink. It's beautiful and peaceful. And, speaking of peaceful, I have no voice. I diagnosed myself with laryngitis. It's really not my best or most difficult diagnosis; afterall, I can't speak. It was really a no brainer. (You may not know this about me, but I always try to beat Mr. Hubs to the correct diagnosis. It's a sick game, I know, but it gives me a chance to gloat when I'm right. Gloating is key to any happy marriage.) I've never lost my voice before. It was literally just all of a sudden gone. Gone. And who knew it would be so necessary to have a voice with a three year old who constantly asks, "Mommy, you still have a birus in your boice?" Hopefully, it doesn't get any worse than no voice and a sore throat, because tomorrow, I medicate. That's right. I'm going to the outlets to get my shop on. Best. Medicine. Ever.
