It seems that whenever I ask for the hub's opinion, I always do the opposite. It's like he confirms my decisions...by telling me the opposite of what I really want. Hmmm. Strange. The hubs told me not to buy paint until we found out whether or not we would be moving in a year. His reasons? A. We are renting, and anything we paint will have to be covered up. B. He HATES to paint, and C. Even though I tell him he doesn't need to help, we both know he does. Ughhh...practical people. Well...a year is a long time, so I bought the paint. (I actually got a fantastic tip from my friend Faith: buy Benjamin Moore's oops paint. They only charge $7/gallon. It's not the exact color I wanted, but for $7, it's close enough! I mean, $7 is kind of like free.)
Anyway, here is the design board for Stella's room. All I have so far is the headboard, paint, and the mattress, which in my opinion doesn't even count, because mattresses are not fun to buy, nor are they cute. It's going to be a fun adventure! (To see Stella's current room, click here.)
Surprisingly really like the coral! But then again... anything looks amazing with white!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm sure Stella will too. Cant wait to see your diy project come to fruition.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait! And I would totally help paint if we were close. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with men and paint?? Don't they know it's the cheapest way to transform a room??
ReplyDeleteI like the coral. would the existing blue cabinet clash or give the room a Caribbean feel.
ReplyDeleteHer turquoise armoire? I want to paint that white, even though the orangy coral with the turquoise really pops. I'm ready for something new! I want to try to give it a makeover similar to the one on the design board. Maybe!

ReplyDeleteThis board just looks so lovely and sophisticated! We’re in the process of pulling together a ‘big girl room’ for our 2 (almost 3) year old. Let’s just say that if she had her way, the room would end up looking like the inside of a pack of bubble gum!
ReplyDeleteOoh pretty!! I love the pillow, and the headboard is my absolute FAVORITE... I want it for myself. I'm here from the sharefest :) Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI love the headboard and the window treatments!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I ask my husband for an opinion on something like decorating, cooking etc. he always tells me his opinion doesn’t matter since I’m just going to do the opposite! I’m glad I’m not the only one who is like this :)
I love the headboard! We rent too, so we don't paint. :( It is a bit if a bummer, but I love living vicariously through others! It looks like it will be a beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from SITS.
Great choices. I hope you have lots of fun working on it and it turns out just like you want.
ReplyDelete(I just love design boards.)

Gorgeous color. My husband also hates painting but I love it because of the practically-instant gratification!
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous colors! I never would have thought to put things like that together. You have a great eye.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I definitely need to make a design board for both of my children's rooms.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS day!
Fun. We have purchased several oops paints (other stores sell them too). It can be tough if you need a whole room of painted though. I wonder if your little girl will have your eye for color. My grandma had an eye for design but it didn't get passed down the gene pool.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the headboard and colors. Have a great SITS day!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the headboard colors are going to be echoes in the quilts, pillows, and window treatments! Visiting from SITS
ReplyDeleteWhat a great tip about the paint, I am totally filing that one away! :) Stopping by from your SITS day!
ReplyDeleteLove those colors!!
ReplyDeleteI am currently having a live affair with padded headboards. Which is more a virtual thing since we don't have any. Yet. But I want one for my little girls' room, too.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Day! Such a cute blog. I like your writing style.
Happy Sits Day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and unique!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of their Ooops paints. That is something to be noted.
ReplyDeleteGood tip about the Ooops paint. I usually buy Sherwin Williams when they're having a sale. It's awesomely durable. Which is very necessary with kids! Stella's room is already completely adorable. I'm sure the finished product of your new design inspiration will be amazing. Love your blog! Visiting from SITS!
ReplyDeleteLove the ideas and love her current room. So cute! I wish I had an eye for interior design.
ReplyDeleteI hope it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteYou and your hubby sound EXACTLY like me and mine! I could have written that first paragraph myself :) And of course I love the colors you picked! Oh and the oops paint is such a great tip that I always forget!
