[color kreyv]: Navy Blue

I know this is a shocker, but I want everything in these pictures. I am seriously considering changing my bathroom vanities to navy. Yumm-ee. Speaking of blue, let's talk about the awkward party and the blue jeans I wore to said party--a "casual work get-together" according to Jeremy.  Yeah...not so much.  We walked into the room, and people were in suits, tuxes, cocktail dresses, and even a few floor-length gowns…and there I was in my faded jeans.  It. Was. Awesome. Nothing like an awkward party to get the year started off right.

[color kreyv]: White Subway Tile with Dark Grout

I have loved subway tile with dark grout for quite some time. I mean, really, look at it. How could you not love it? (If you don't love it, it's perfectly okay. I still like you.) Subway tile basically encompasses so many elements of my style. For starters it's white and black.  It has straight lines, it's clean, simple, understated. I love it. I decided to put subway tile with gray grout in our master bathroom. I can't wait to see it, and while I wait, I will just swoon over these. Sigh (and swoon).

Ceiling Love

Oh hi.  Remember me? Yes, almost three months later and still trying to get my groove back. I'll find it, right? RIGHT? Please tell me I'll find it! (And don't tell me if I won't, mmmkay?!) Anyway, how absolutely stunning are these ceilings? I would so move into anyone of these houses without even seeing any other rooms, that's how beautiful these are. Ok. I wouldn't really do that, but let's be honest: To. Die. For.

[color kreyv]: Black & White

Four words: black and white; yes and please. Enough said. (Oh, and I'm not counting the ands in my four words. Just making sure you all know I can, indeed, count.)

[color kreyv]: Turquoise & Mustard

It was harder than I thought to find some good inspiration pics with mustard and turq (you don't mind if I call it that, do you? Mmmkay, thanks.)In other words, it was hard to find pictures that weren't mustard and turq overkill--we all know I like my color in small doses. This is mostly because of my need to change things every two seconds and my other need of keeping my marriage in tact by not buying and selling things for the house every other day (see story of four couches). But, back to turq and mustard...I really think throwing some white into this color combo really takes it to the next level. I mean, really, who doesn't love a pop of color? What do you think (besides that leather chair is amaze-balls, and you really want one)?

Seeing Spots and Loving It | Polka Dot Rooms

It's June. Whaaat?? I have to say, it's kind of a relief to have May over with. It was SO busy, like something-every-night busy. It was rough for this little homebody. In fact, I napped on Saturday and Sunday...and both were equally awesome, by the way. So, speaking of awesome, are we loving these polka dot rooms, or what? I know the quality of the bottom picture is so-so, but I had to show it, because I love the use of polka dots in such a sophisticated space.  It says, "Hey, I'm sophisticated, but I'm fun, too."  You know, if rooms could talk. And if I could hear said rooms speaking...

[color kreyv]: Teal

I am loving the different ways teal is used in each of these spaces, don't you? I had the Traditional Homes image saved on one of my Pinterest boards, so I decided to see what other teal pretties I could find.  I have to say, I was quite successful.  That Pinterest sure is amazing.

Speaking of Pinterest, I have noticed a bit of mocking from the men I have been around.  We hung out with friends on Saturday, and then another group of friends on Monday, and both times, Pinterest and (I am merely quoting the offenders) the lameness of it came up. Lame? Ummm, is this seriously coming from the gender who created fantasy sports leagues? FANTASY sports. Are you kidding me? Cataloging recipes (that I at least think about making) and beautiful interiors (that will definitely come in handy when we build my our dream house) in an organized way is NOT lame. I mean, don't get me wrong, I am mostly just looking at pretty pictures (and then organizing said pictures),  BUT AT LEAST THEY'RE REAL!  No. Freaking. Comparision. I mean, really guys,  did you really think you would win an argument with something with the word fantasy in it. I'm thinking no. Pinterest: 1; Fantasy Sports: 0.

Bathroom Obsessions & Confessions

Before you get too excited, I really don't have any juicy confessions, but the word just sounded good with obsessions, so I went with it. Sorry if you're disappointed. Anyway, I don't post bathrooms much, because, well, to me, the umph is all about the design--the tile choice(s), the mirror, vanity, lights, flooring, fixtures, etc. Yes, there is some styling, but to me, it is all about the bones. In other words, I can't take my cookie cutter bathroom in my rental and make it awesome like these, that I obviously love.  When I look at amazing bathrooms, the inspiration I get isn't, hey I think I might add some new pillows to my sofa, it's more like, hey, I would need to gut this bathroom to get it the way I want it. Better yet, let's build a house.

In other bathroom news, Stella let me know this morning while putting on my make-up that I will never be Samoan like her. (She is half Samoan, and very proud of it. In fact, she usually lets people know within the first two minutes of meeting them.)  Her exact words were, "Are you putting that on your face to look Samoan like me? Well, nice try. It's just making your face look pink." From the mouth of babes...

[color kreyv]: Touch of Gold

You know yesterday's post about how I may have a few, very minor, not-weird-at-all OCD tendencies? So, as I was writing it, I asked Jeremy what he thought were some of the craziest things that I do. His answer:  "You are always wiping off the countertops, and you always make the beds, even when you know Stella will take a nap later." Really? REALLY?  I was like, "Dude, that's just called being clean." Men…am I right?! Oh, and if you think this post should have something to do with gold, then here it is: I love a touch of gold in every room, don't you?

C.D.O.

So, I think I am OCD. There are many reasons that have brought me to this conclusion: I always make sure the trash on my computer is empty; I can't stand when I iPhone or iPad has updates; I'm always lining up the dining room chairs just right (there is only one way); and I make sure the papers on my desk are lined up at a 90 degree angle. The list goes on (and on). When I taught second grade, once upon a time, it would drive me crazy if the desks weren't straight, so I would straighten them. With the kids still in them. So this, among other things, leads me to believe I may have some teeny, tiny issues. The worst, however, is when something goes missing in our home, like a game piece or part of one of Stella's toys. I absolutely drive myself crazy trying to find it. I mean, heaven forbid we have a toy that is missing a piece, because then we might as well just throw it away. Well, yesterday, a Scrabble tile went missing. I looked ALL over the place for that thing. Of course, Hubs was like, "I'm pretty sure you can just order a new one." Not the point…that tile is in this house somewhere! People, I spent hours looking for tile number 100. (I swear, it's even worse if there is just one missing.) But, alas, I found it. (It was the letter M, in case you were wondering.) And now, I can sleep.

P.S. I wish this was my bathroom. Nothin's gettin' lost in that baby.

Tub Love & Beautiful Bathrooms

I realized that I don't blog about bathrooms much. I guess I haven't really thought too much about my dream bathroom. I should really get on that.  Beautiful bathrooms are definitely wonderful, but I don't know that they would be on the top of my list, since it's not where the majority of my time is spent. Don't get me wrong, sure I love a scalding hot bath and watching Netflix on my iPad just as much as the next guy, but still, I spend way more time in other rooms. (BTW, am I the only one who does this? It's okay if I am. It's totally awesome. You should try it.) Anyway...I obviously have a thing for free-standing or claw foot tubs, subway tile, and wood floors, because I just noticed that all three of these images have these things. Sheesh, apparently I have thought about it.  Seriously, do I think of anything else?!

White Brick and Character (Not the Fake Kind)

I love the look of exposed white brick. It's kind of just cool and casual without really trying. I love the texture and character it adds. Funny thing about "character". During medical school, we lived in a house with character (AND charm according to the landlords). Little did we know that in this case, character meant old, creaky, and cold. Really, really cold. And it was in Wisconsin. Where the winters are frigid. It was a piece of crap. Yes, Mom, I just said crap on my blog. Twice. To this day, my husband hates the word character when describing a house.  I guess if I want my dream loft in a super cool city, I will have to use a different word to describe it. But don't worry--I'm pretty handy with a thesaurus.

Pretty, Pretty Pins (I think.)

Oh. My. Gosh. I am so annoyed with myself. I have been so very indecisive lately. I'm driving myself crazy! It seriously just took me almost a week to make a decision about pillows for my bed. A week. For pillows. It's the weirdest thing: I can make selections for a client, but for myself? How about I change my mind 17 times and then overanalyze my decisions? I've got to get it together! Can you even imagine if I ever had the opportunity to build a home? I think I'd scare Jeremy away! I mean, what would I do? It's not like I can return a home like I do with everything else. If you think I'm joking, read this post about my four couches in three years. People, I have issues. Or maybe not. I'm not sure.  Let's just look at these pretty pictures that I pinned.  And breathe.

Love Hate Relationship | Chalkboard Paint

One DIY area I haven't ventured into is chalkboard paint. I love the way chalk looks, but I hate the way it feels. I love the writing all over the wall, but I never like the way my own writing looks. I love the the look of having chalkboards in a kids' space, but I would HATE the mess. You see my predicament, here? It's the red lipstick thing all over again: I love it on other people, but I just can't do it myself. What are your thoughts on chalkboard paint, love it or leave it?

[color kreyv]: Indigo

So, before I bore you all with vacuum talk (more on that later), let's talk indigo. I love the indigo in these spaces, and even though I'm typically not a bold color girl, I can definitely get on board with indigo. I especially love the contrast of the white against the indigo. Simply gorg.

On another note...I need your advice. I need a new vacuum. I'm kind of thinking that the one we got for our wedding 12 years ago is probably ready to go to the vacuum graveyard. It probably wasn't even that awesome in the first place. (Thank goodness we've had wood floors and haven't used it a ton the last eight years!) Anyway, I think it's between Shark and Dyson, and I can't make up my mind. We are able to get a huge discount on a Dyson, so the cost would be comparable, so don't take that into consideration. So, with cost being about the same, which one would you choose: Shark or Dyson, and why do you love it? (Does anyone really love their vacuum?  I really just can't get excited about this purchase...unless it comes with new shoes or new furniture. Or a house.)

Floor to Ceiling Wainscoting

I love the look of floor to ceiling wainscoting. It's such a modern way to introduce texture, interest, and warmth to a room. And, from what I hear, it's not terribly difficult to install--especially if you install the way I do: watch someone else do the work.
