Cutest Lil' Nurseries

Are these not the cutest?? The wallpaper, the color palettes, the furniture--they're everything.  No more words are even one bit necessary. Enjoy.

[color kreyv]: Light Pink

I LOVE me a nice, soft pink. I think it's a lot more versatile than some people may think. I mean, let's be honest, pink kind of has a personality of belonging in a little girl's room, but I think it can go anywhere. I'll tell you why. First of all, I love it paired with more masculine hues like navies, dark grays, and even blacks. Second of all, a little bit can go a long way. Just adding light pink in a piece of art, a throw, or a pillow can sometimes be enough. Third of all, it's subtle and calming, and it's just awesome, so you should just add some to your home. I know what you're thinking:  I should have gone into law.

Things Are Looking Up

I'm pretty sure I've used that title before, but, let's be honest, it works. Aren't these ceilings amazing? I love the detail and character of the ceilings in these pictures. I would LOVE any of these. Actually, I would be happy with ceilings, period. And guess what--we may be getting ceilings sooner rather than later. (And walls and floors, too!) That's right, after weeks and weeks of waiting for permits, we're ready to dig, folks.  And though my ceilings won't be anything like these, they will be our ceilings, and I can't wait!

[color kreyv]: Kelly Green

Stella was sitting on my lap as I was about to source pictures for this post, so I asked her what her favorite color was.  She told me it was purple, blue, red, and black...so I chose kelly green. (I know...it's kind of like the way I ask Jeremy his opinion and then choose opposite of what he tells me. What can I say? Sometimes it helps me make a decision quicker.) Anyway, I do love me some kelly green. It's fresh, clean, and sophisticated.  Let's just make sure we don't overdo it, mmmkay? We wouldn't want anyone's house to look like a, umm, I can't think of anything clever. (I blame the five year old on my lap.) Let's just say that Jeremy really loves green, so he would like a lot of it.  That should help you make your decision on the amount you want in your own home.  See? It totally helps.

Bold Walls | Kids' Rooms

Okay, so how cute are these kids' rooms? I love the bold walls done with just paint and wall decals. This is a great way to go to make a big statement. And, the best part: it's cheaper than large art pieces. The other best part? It can be removed and/or painted over if you're like me and change your mind every other day you change your mind.

[color kreyv]: Navy & Peach

I am a sucker for navy, and I love adding a pale peach or pink to the mix. It's kind of got a hard and soft thing going on. Speaking of hard and soft, my soft baby is crying really hard, so...gotta run.  In summary: peach, navy, good.

[color kreyv]: Mint & Navy

I'm not going to lie; these rooms are pretty freaking adorable. I'm super loving the mint and navy combo, aren't you? I feel like navy is a hard color, meaning it's dark and anchors a space. This sounds crazy, but I'm going to say it anyway, because, well, that boat sailed long ago. If colors had personalities, navy would be the serious color. Mint, on the other hand, is soft; it's playful and light, and I just love the juxtaposition of the two colors.  Another bonus of this combo? It is definitely gender-neutral, which I love.

Nursery Love

These are some of my very most favorite nurseries I have seen lately. I absolutely love them--all for different reasons (although, I did just notice that they all have prints from the Animal Print Shop, which is a fave). Love them. Which one is your fave?

Neutrals, Wood, and a Touch of Gray

Happy April 1? What? How in the world did that happen? I have no idea. No. I-dea. I know these images aren't nearly as springy as yesterday's yellow doors, but these are me: Miss Neutral Nelly. I LOVE the natural wood, the grays, blacks, and whites, and the ease of these rooms. What do you think? Blah or fab?

Baby Girl Nursery

Here is a recent nursery design with lots of neutrals, pale, blushy pinks, and some gold accents.  It's total baby glam.  And speaking of glam, if you saw me right now, glam is the VERY last word that would enter your brain.  My teeth are brushed, and that's about all I accomplished in the personal hygiene category today. I am still in my workout clothes, but I'm cold, so I put my robe on over the top of my clothes. I look hot. Really, really hot. Just ask my mom who insists on face timing. (Stella answered it…I was totally going to let it go to voicemail.) I swear, I'm either put together in heels and make-up, or I look like a homeless person--usually on Mondays when I clean the house and do laundry.  I have to tell you, though, when Tuesday rolls around, I'm feeling prey-ty awesome after a hair wash and some make-up. I mean, really, who doesn't love a good before and after?

Fave Kids' Spaces

Kids' spaces are so much fun to design. It's kind of like dressing a little one--everything is just so much cuter when it's mini-sized (except for mini candy bars, or "fun" size as they are so incorrectly labeled).  Plus, kids wear anything you put on them and have no opinions about the interior design of their rooms…at least in our house.  I know that's not always the case. Anyway, these are some of my current faves.  I love a space that is sophisticated and whimsical all at the same time.

[color kreyv]: BM Dark Harbor

How absolutely amazing is this color? It's yummy, that's what it is. I mean, it's like the double dark chocolate Godiva brownies (with caramel) of paint. Yeah, it's that rich. I pinned one of the images with the plan of calling it peacock blue, which I was feeling pretty good about, BUT then, upon further investigation, I found the actual color: Benjamin Moore's Dark Harbor. Gorg, right? That's right…just take it all in. By the way, anyone else craving chocolate?

Pretty Little Closets

Look at these cute little closets. Aren't they adorbs? It will probably be a long time before I ever paint or wallpaper a closet (I figure the parts of my house that actually show should probably get the attention first), but I absolutely love the idea. Plus, who doesn't love to look at tiny little clothes? Adult clothes, on the other hand, really aren't so fun to look at…unless they are brand new…and for me. Why is everything cuter when it's tiny?!

Have you entered the ElemenOPillow giveaway, yet? If you did, great. If not, what the heck is your problem? I joke, I joke, but really, get on it. It's a $50 credit to the ElemenOPillow shop. Winning could potentially change your life home. Click here to enter.

Nursery | Man Cave | ElemenOPillows

Did you have a fun Halloween? Holidays are just so much fun with kids…especially because there is always chocolate involved. I like chocolate.  I like it a lot.

Here are two design boards: a nursery and a man cave. Both were inspired by the black houndstooth pillow from ElemenOPillows. I love how versatile pillows are, and they definitely play a big part in setting the tone for a room. Don't forget to enter the ElemenOPillows giveaway for your chance to win a $50 credit to the shop…just by leaving a comment on this post

[in five]: Wallpaper Love

I would definitely hang wallpaper, would you? I should rephrase that: I would definitely love for someone else to hang wallpaper in my home. I can tell you right now that I wouldn't have the patience to hang it myself. I especially love it in a powder room or entry. Or a nursery. Or a kid's room. Oh, and of course wallpaper on a ceiling is pretty much amazing. Yes, those are the places I would hang wallpaper…but not all of those places, just one or two. I wouldn't want to overdo the wallpaper thing. That would be crazy, and I'm not crazy. Really.

[color kreyv]: White & Cream

One time I wore a white skirt with a creamish tannish shirt to work. A girl said, "Well, that's brave." Ummm, if by brave you mean totally rockin' it, well then yes, I guess white and cream are a "brave" combo. The trick with working with these colors is using the right tones of whites and creams. You want to make sure your white is white enough and cream is cream enough, so that the cream doesn't make your white look dingy and vice versa. Make sense? Personally, I love the combo, but, apparently, I'm a brave person.

P.S. That's totally not what she meant when she said brave.

Baby Boy Nursery | Jamison

Creating nurseries is so much fun! This space is for baby Jamison. I really wanted to implement lots of color in a subtle way. I also added some black and wood tones to the room. The black and white art will go over the existing white crib to create great contrast in the room. I can't wait to see it all finished!
