I just couldn't handle this pot having a crooked line. What can I say? Sometimes my OCD gets the best of me--not the first time, certainly won't be the last. I can't ever leave well enough alone, which typically ends with me ruining a project and then being bugged at myself for wasting time and money. This time, the only issue I had was glueing way too much twine to the vase, not liking it, then pulling it off, and trying to scrape off hot glue and pieces of twine with my fingernails. My nails are a little tender, and a few are chipped, but no one ever said that DIYs are for the faint of heart, right? I think I'm happy with the final product (for now). That doesn't mean that you don't have to squint when you look at it, though. There may or may not be a few chunks of hot glue still lingering. That just gives it character, though, right?!
That is super cute! Thanks for visiting me from SITS! Your blog and photos are great!
ReplyDeleteI'd be the same way, I wouldn't be able to rest until I fixed the crooked line, lol! So you didn't like it with more twine, did you cover the entire pot? 'Cause I'm thinking I'd love to try that.
ReplyDeleteOh I love cheap and easy! (Projects, that is) It came out so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour narration is always entertaining. Fun post! Love the color block pot. The twine is like a belt.
ReplyDeleteSaying hello from SITS! Love your vase.
ReplyDeleteI'm an art teacher and sometimes I use my heat gun to get extra hot glue off my student's art sculptures. Hopefully it will save your nails in the future! Happy blogging.
Love your style!!! I don't want to over comment in one day, LOL. I had to grab my hubby to show him the pics of your home. We just bought our home almost 3yrs ago and have very little in the design dept. I'm really so insired to what we can do just seeing how you used the space you had.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Even if the line were straight, I think the twine finishes it.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from SITs :) I love this, and it looks easy enough for someone like me with two left thumbs to make. Thanks for sharing!
