What's your take on playrooms? Yay or nay? I love, love, love a cute playroom, and it's a good place to go a little over the top with design choices. (I mean, really, where else is it okay to put a tepee? I'm so in love with these!) I like the idea of a playroom providing a place for all of the toys and eliminating toys in the bedrooms and other rooms. The one thing I'm not sure of is the potential amount of toys and disorganization that may occur. In other words, are they an open invitation for giant messes? I get anxiety just thinking about it. I suppose I would just have to do a lot of organizing, which kind of sounds more like a playroom for me rather than for my kids. Hmmmm, maybe I do want an organizing room playroom, after all.
I am a huge fan of playrooms. I so wish we had the extra space for one. And the teepee...i have so many pinned, I can't wait to make one for my kids when we move. It will be a backyard teepee though. :)
I hope there are more comments on this playroom subject. I am curious on what works for others. Our playroom is the upstairs loft. It works okay but inevitably toys get drag around all over the house. I need to be more strict about boundaries. I think playrooms are best when they are a separate room and you can close the door when it's bedtime and not worry about always keeping it tidy. That would sure save me a lot of stress. If you keep toys up high in closets or shelves it stays more clean cuz the kiddos have to ask to get out certain toys and I make them clean up their other toys. However, if I have too many toys a their level, they will for sure get out each one and the place is havoc. But if you're Monica Gellar, which I think you may be related, you won't mind cleaning up such a mess and re-organizing it. :)

ReplyDeleteMy kids never play in our playroom. It had fun decorating/organizing it though. :)
