I've had my yellow pears for probably a good seven or eight years. I was so over them. I already had a can of white spray paint, I taped the stems, laid them on my back porch, and sprayed away. It took about three different phases to get them all covered. Easy peasy!
I bought the glass tray at Pier 1 for $10.00, full price! I thought it was such a good deal that I want to buy more. What for you ask? Because, they are so cheap! I'm sure I could find something to do with more! By the way, this month, if you charge ANY amount on your Pier 1 card, you automatically get a $20 reward. (They didn't even pay me to say that. I'm just passing it along, because I care!)
the timing of this is HILARIOUS -- I literally just threw my yellow-greenish pears (that I am so over) in our garage sale pile. I am going to go pull them back out and get spray painting! these turned out so cute.
ReplyDeleteLOVING this blog Jamie!
I love this blog, Jamie! It gives me so many ideas for my house. I want to know what you think about faux food like cakes, cupcakes, etc as kitchen/dining decorations (like can be found at jenniboriginals.blogspot.com).
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments! As far as faux food, it's not my preference. The only time I could see using it would be for staging. I think you mentioned you are selling your house? But, even then, I would prefer the real deal (i.e. fresh flowers, fruit, etc.)
I have seen a few faux items such as green pears, apples, and artichokes that I don't mind, but otherwise, I'd have to go with "not my fave!"
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Jamie
haha, I absolutely love these! you should definitly post the 'cheap ideas'. It's usually the simplest ideas that are the best. I had my most success with my simplest idea of colouring deviled eggs, I thought it was too simple yet people seem to love this simple idea and my more complicated ones are mostly ignored. So keep them coming :-)
