[so cheap, so easy]: Repurposed Cribs
I'm not going to lie, this is a good one, guys! Using your crib rails for magazine and/or quilt display? Genius. Love. It. It's so cheap that it's free, and the easy depends on where and how you will obtain your crib rail! I know, I'm excited, too, but please don't dismantle your crib if your baby is still using it. I know, it will be hard, but you can do it.

ReplyDeleteGenius! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant idea! I love this!
ReplyDeleteReally great idea.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: How do you keep it from sliding down the wall or sliding on your floor?
Thanks.
Ellen
@Ellen, great question, of course, I never thought about that! If it were me, I would probably set the ends in the rubber pieces you buy to put under furniture, so that it won't slide. They come in different shapes, sizes, and colors and form a cupping shape, so that you can set things in them. Otherwise, I would attach the top part to the wall with a bracket.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jamie. This was my idea, too. Or those rolls of "bumpy" shelf liner for RV's cut to size. Then glued to the ends.
ReplyDeleteMy 63 year old sister is done with "her" crib with the last grandchild and just told us a few days ago that she can't store it. Her grandson is in a "big boy bed" now. She used it when her daughter came to visit with the now 5 & almost 3 yo g-children came to visit from Maine. It has survived her, me, her daughter, my son and now the 2 g-children and I DO NOT what it to go to the land fill!
I was also thinking of displaying my souvenir (new & vintage) tea towels from the places we have visited. Right now they are in a large hat box that I am using for storage and I would love to be able to look at them.
Thanks so much for the idea.
Ellen
What a great idea, Ellen and so great to have a crib with such history!
