[so cheap, so easy]: Vintage Ornaments

I came across these vintage ornaments on Pinterest--of all places. I never find anything good there. Said no one ever. Anyway, the original post is from My Desired Home. There's not a tutorial, but if I were to guess (which usually gets me in trouble with DIY projects), I would go with styrofoam balls, fabric, jute rope, and a little hot glue (of the low temperature nature, of course). There's also some type of nail or pin in there, and that cute little pearl, which is quite the finishing touch. Man, I'm good at tutorials...said no one who ever read this blog.

  1. I LOVE these too!! Seriously they are my favorite, I decided to recreate my own.. I just did a post about it :) I was thinking the same exact thing you were, but instead of buying foam balls I decided to cover glass bulbs that I never use! and no hot glue was used!! I'm pretty happy with how the came out.. however the only thing I would change, is either spray paint the top gold hanger, or swap it out with some twine like these ones have! But non the less these are still my favorite :) ~Bre

  2. I'm willing to bet the pearls are just the heads of pins that anchor the rope into the styrofoam ball.
